#9 Tony Romo | QB DALLAS COWBOYS :star:
Full Name: Tony Romo
Born: April 21, 1980
San Diego, CA
Height: 6-2
Weight: 225 lbs.
Age: 27
Pos: QB
Experience: 5 years
College: Eastern Illinois
2007 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 68
KEY - 69-60: Average Starter
A valuable roster player but is not dominant against the better players he faces on a week-to-week basis... Gives great effort and you are glad that he is on your team, but he may or may not go to the next level.

Alert: E
E - Experience (Player lacks game or position experience)

Comment: Romo has decent size, adequate arm strength and nice touch. He is intelligent and composed. He gets adequate zip on his throws, including the deep out. He has the accuracy to put the ball in tight spots. He reads defenses well enough and mostly avoids forcing throws into coverage. He isn't afraid to dump off or make a safe throw. He has decent mobility and can make some throws on the run. He can move around and buy time in the pocket. But Romo does nothing especially well and still is inexperienced. He is a little short and doesn't throw with great velocity. He won't make many big plays with his feet. He sometimes throws off his back foot and his deep ball will sail. He played in a shotgun offense in college and has been slow to get a handle on his drop-back mechanics and fundamentals.

#8 Rex Grossman | QB CHICAGO BEARS
Full Name: Rex Grossman
Born: August 23, 1980
Bloomington, IN
Height: 6-1
Weight: 217 lbs.
Age: 27
Pos: QB
Experience: 5 years
College: Florida
Drafted: Year:2003 Round:1 Pick:22
2007 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 69
Alert: D
D - Durability (Player who cannot stay healthy)

Comment: Grossman has a good arm, confidence and very good mechanics. He shows nice footwork on his drops and slides well in the pocket. He has solid ball skills and carries the ball high. He has an over-the-top delivery and brings the ball out at a high launch point. He has a quick release and is accurate on short and intermediate routes. He throws a good deep ball. He has leadership skills and never seems to get down on himself, despite some profound struggles. But Grossman's decision-making and preparation must improve. He forces too many throws into tight spots and sometimes holds the ball too long. He seems to think too highly of his arm strength, which is only decent. His big plays too often are offset by colossal mistakes. His performances in 2006 were alternately tremendous and horrific. He must show more maturity, becoming a better student of the game and polishing his progression reads. He needs to learn when to check down or throw away passes. His durability is questionable, though he stayed healthy in '06.

Right on. I just want people (Zoners) to see the consensus at Scouts, Inc. - which feeds Pro Football Weekly and ESPN and ESPN.com

Grossman 69 and Romo 68
Laughable.

Mega-laughable dittos. Wade can't say enough about Tony's ability to make plays w/ his feet. Heck. we've seen it w/ our own eyes. They must be critique-ing the hot-handed Grossman, when he shows up...

This begins with the fact that Romo went undrafted, it's something that is really hard to get over, even when his success at this level is begininng to speak for itself.

I'm sure Jerry Rice and Tom Brady were both "graded" poorly when they were just getting started too.

I know what the problem is. The guy playing QB for us is just using the name of Tony Romo. Actually, it's a very young developing Joe Montana. Just kidding of course and by no means comparing him to Montana.

Must admit I simply don't understand the Scouts report except maybe it was written before 07 preseason and hasn't been updated. I'm willing to bet there are several NFL teams who'd rather have Romo starting for them then there current QBs and I'm not referring to Atlanta, Miami, etc. although both wound turn handsprings if they could get him tomorrow.

Think Jason Taylor would be happy to see him replace Trent Green. Of course they don't have enough weapons in Miami to utilize Romo properly.

Upsets me that Romo still doesn't get the respect he is starting to earn. I don't want him anoited as great, but a smart objective analyst should be able to say he looks real good now although it's too early to say whether he indeed will play his whole career at the top level where he seems to fit right now.

Romo's a little short? Rex is an inch shorter but that doesn't seem to show up on his report. Did Mickey write this in 2004? :banghead:
