Carpenter hasn't proven to be the answer as a consistent pass rusher. He may, but the need is too important to ignore again. There has also been plenty of reports that BP said that Carpenter is going to eventually play inside which is what I always thought he was better suited for before we drafted him.

Carp looked great in coverage and made some plays against the run.

We need somone who can create pressure on the QB.

When did Carp do that?

Carp should be taking James' starting role.

I think nelson would be a good pick he's a ball hawk and he will hit to, but i think if dwayne jarrett or sidney rice are there take one of them.

Who cares what any one projects at this point. The Juniors haven't even declared yet.

I think the Cowboys will sign FS Deon Grant in free agency

I think the Cowboys will sign OG/tackle Eric Stienbach for Rivera in free agency

I think the Cowboys will sign LB A. Thomas in free agency. Lance Briggs will be too expensive and I dont think Chicago will let him leave.

Not picking up a playmaking LB and/or quality pass rusher is not an option. This was and has been the achilles heel of this franchise for years.

I think they will allow Pat McQuisten to battle Flozell for left tackle. Flozell will be back, at least for training camp. They have a couple of guards they picked up to battle with Kosier, who also played below average and may not last thru training camp.

They will keep T.O. and Glenn and resign Crayton (say what you want about T.O. but he, along with Glenn and Crayton, all had career numbers. An off-season with Romo will do them alot of good.)

Rivera is gone! Second back surgery with a below average season full of penalties, missed blocks, and being over powered at time,at his age, is a simple no-brainer. Being a good guy, role model, and leader is not enough if it doesnt transfer on the field. Letting Larry Allen go was a tougher decision.

Zimmer did not know the 3-4 as well as he does the 4-3. Period! Atlanta will be getting a damn good coach.

Parcells will be back. Has a good team but bad breaks. Actually was pretty lucky to go 9-7 considering he only has one significant injury. Knock on wood because no other team can say that!

First round pick will definitely be a DLineman. Maybe second round too. The three year rule for Canty and Spears will be in effect next season and they have not shown enough progress to have faith in their future play. A combine total of six sacks in two seasons for a first round (Spears had 1 sack this season,19th overall pick last season) and a fourth round-projected-first-rounder (Canty had 1 sack this season). Both are probably good players but simply not 3-4 players. Wouldnt be surprise if one of them is traded for a player or draft upgrade to get a player better suited.

Greg Ellis will be back as a pass rusher.

Parcells will finally bring in some quality coaches. This was his downfall this season. Sean Peyton was a blessing to have for three years. OL coach Alex Gibbs would be a good coach to start with. Signing Al Groh as defensive coordinator would be great but reaching. He know Parcells and he know the 3-4. Hell maybe a good HC prospect but first things first.

This will be a very long off-season filled with an empty feeling of lost opportunity and question marks. The major questions will be on the defensive side of the ball.

Again I strongly believe they will pay Grant to play with Williams and solve that problem once and for all. Watkins and Davis are two quality backups and ST players.

I would love to see Carp move inside to replace that iceberg and someone brought in via FA or early draft instead.

I have mentioned most of these names before and stand by them as ideal candidates as OLB's in the 3-4 (no particular order)

1.Chris Kelsay (FA)
2.Justin Smith (FA)
3.Adalius Thomas (best candidate and also the most expensive)
4.Lamaar Woodley
5.Victor Abiamiri
6.Anthony Spencer (a steal in the third round)
7.Antwaan Peek (FA)

I do agree though, if you're going to keep Carp outside Willis is the best option in the draft to replace James which I am guessing would take until the third week of training camp to accomplish.

Everyone knows it will be the continual search for another piece in the front 7. I'm not sure if the staff knows that other positions are allowed to be picked in the 1st round.

nail on the head about the LB's...Dallas is notorious for not paying linebackers. It be nice to see them finally eat it on someone like Thomas...he'll fetch a good price!

Dallas needs someone besides the questionable return of Ellis; maybe he won't be the same player...you may be right about Watkins too...he may be too much of a gamble...i think he has good upside, but the Cowboys may not have the luxury of waiting for him to develop...Williams desperately needs someone he can trust behind him...they could kill two birds with one stone here...it be nice to see him wreaking havoc on the LOS...he's a fish out of water right now...

I do think that Roy maybe needs to lighten up a tad and improve his coverage skills...but in the end, i believe he is what he is...he definitely misses Woodson though...

I've heard it mentioned that Flozell may be moved to guard and Mc quistan and Procter may get the nod...Rivera talks a good game but h-discs are debilitating...i have a daughter with one and it's a nagging injury...good days and bad days...he won't hold up, period.

Dallas needs to seriously tune up a line that gave up 37 sacks this year, with a 6.9% sack rate...while better than 2005 with 52, Baltimore, the top line this year, had only 17 sacks and a 3.1% sack rate...couple that with their defense and there's no wonder they look super...

For Romo to bounce back next year he'll need time to actually read defenses and not be running for his life.
