ESPN, like its parent company excels at perpetual deceit.

What they said about Tim Tebow this past weekend...was a flat lie, and it is completely in line with it's socio-political agenda. Hey, I'm an agnostic and I don't believe Tebow should every play quarterback again. But I can see a maniacal, hate-driven agenda when I see one.

And that's what ESPN is rolling with, trying to smear Tebow...and purporting him to say something that he absolutely never said. Tebow never refused to play a role or to play a down of football. And that's the lie ESPN trumpeted.

I'd like to see them get sued for this crap.

I havent followed it closely but couldnt just be an attempt to simply make some news?

Its time for Tebow to go away! :horse:

I see the sports media as an example of various interests ruining our country.

Dallas/Fort Worth did not have a single sports radio station - now there are four, and all trying to increase ratings in an already saturated market. It's like banks trying to entice debtheads. I could give other examples, but it would get into controversial topics, but the point is various interests are trying to grow beyond what is healthy.

:laugh2: @ the hate for this guy. All the guy has done when he has had the chance is win. Is he the prototypical QB? No. But at least he took the Broncoes to the playoffs and won. Then he gets traded to NY for what amounts to a PR stunt for the Jets organization and rarely gets the chance to play even when Sanchez is sucking up the place and now he shouldn't even be in the league.

The depths of hate for anything Tebow is hilarious. The guy has proven over and over again he can win leading a team. And that is really all that matters.

And stop watching ESPN. They are a horrific sports network.

I think its time for WPB and his smilies to go away.

Tebow can stay.. guy stands for all that is right in the league and doesn't asked to be talked about all the time. Its unfortunate for him that he was traded into a 3 ring circus of an organization in NY, but soon he'll be out of that awful situation and probably starting for some team that is willing to give him a fair shake. Good luck to him when he gets that chance.

We will see how he does in Jax next year. The only place for him really.

McElroy has a concussion and is out for the last game. Sanchez will start.

Tebow isn't the problem here, he never was. ESPN plastered the guy all over the place because people tuned in. They have simply over saturated the average football fan with their continued Tebow talk. I honestly feel bad for the dude because he never asked for it and never sought it out. He is pretty good guy at least from the people I know that went to or taught at UF with him.

Their early report was wrong. So that means they were smearing him.

Nevermind the reality that they've literally done everything to complement the guy at every chance over the past few years.

I wouldn't characterize Hoge calling him 'phony as a three dollar bill' simply an early reporting error. It's pretty much flat out insulting a man for something he didn't even do.

I know Tebow denied the story. But has ESPN actually retracted the story?

Hoge pretty much acts like a complete ***. Jaws sticks up for Tebow; the guy who claims to have talked to Tebow plays the interpreter and the woman plays devil's advocate. Hoge toward the end really rips into Tebow:

Regardless of religious views and whatnot, having Tebow in the league is a good thing for the NFL. I have virtually zero affiliation or even a genuine fandom of Tebow. But, knowing enough people who work at the University of Florida, some of whom are not exactly fans of the football program and have differing viewpoints from Tebow, every single one of them has told me how he is an exceptional person.

I don't buy for a second the stuff ESPN is reporting with him not wanting to go into the Wildcat. It's just not in his nature as a person.

It's what ESPN typically does with the Cowboys. They get a source, any source, and they do not vet the source. But as long as that person tells them what they want to hear, that's all they need. It's the same way with Mr. Blue Suit reporting Cowboys stories. He just gets a source that tells him something he wants to hear and runs with it even if it's a lie. Even worse, he'll report it even if he knows it is a lie.

I just don't know how Tebow has ever wronged ESPN. So not only does ESPN do the injustice of viewer and readers by lying to them, but I cannot understand their malicious intent towards a person who has never been malicious to anybody.

I can only hope with Tebow's popularity that it wisens up the sports loving public to the antics and lack of integrity of ESPN. Maybe then, they'll change their ways.

This would put them on the level of the National Enquirer - get a source, credible or not to protect themselves legally, as long as it sells.

So, when talking about Romo, it's always a team sport. But when talking about Tebow..it's all him? You're hilarious man.

He's also proven over and over that he can't even throw a spiral.

Im not a Tebow fan. Wish he would just go away.

But,

No matter what you think of Tebow its obvious that Hoge is an idiot. You know that if you've watched him even a few times. If you've never watched him before this crap he spewed you can see what an idiot he is. Im really surprised that he didnt mention the model NFL franchise Steelers in this discussion. I didnt know he could talk that long w/o adding some Steeler or Rooney family adoration.

From everything you know about Tebow up to this point, if you are even a lil bit responsible in your comments you would get to know more about the situation before you blasted him like Hoge did. Totally irresponsible, even for a clown like him.

I wonder if he trashed Roethlisberger before anything was validated during all his rape crap. But then again what's a rape charge compared to a guy who helps kids and builds charities?

Fixed it

Tebow is a terrible NFL QB. People were saying the same stuff about Vince Young when he first came into the league. OMG HE JUST WINZ!!!

He sucks. Period. Let's move on.

Except he took his first team to the playoffs after a terrible start to their season and passed for 300 yards and beat a very tough Steelers D in the process.

Not that simple, bob..
