IRVING, Texas -- Two veteran wide receivers went off the market on Monday when Nate Burleson and Jason Avant signed with the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers, respectively. Both were linked to the Dallas Cowboys by the media (hello, that’s me) but sources indicated the Cowboys had some interest in Burleson, who played for the passing game coordinator with the Detroit Lions. The Cowboys just were not willing to pull the trigger on a deal now, continuing their patient approach in free agency.
