It's not a popular answer, but the reality is no one knows. Romo's history suggests he will beat any timeline, but it seems unrealistic to think he's out there for the opener. He's also older, so his body might heal differently, and you have to wonder if the team will be more conservative than in years past given his mounting injuries.

Romo can do anything. Including ride a Russian Battle Hog:

It's not a negative view it's a common sense view which you can't relate to. Now get back to your home away from home, the Rant Forum.

Then why are all your common sense views negative?

How much more can his wife Candice take?? A 36 year old in two slings last year, surgery in the offseason, and now a back brace?? Good grief, for the love of the game!! And millions! ;)

If I was in shoes and making all those millions I wouldn't care if I was in a BODY CAST. :lmao:

Look at the state of the team. What's positive about Romo being out possibly half the season if not more with a broken bone in his back and having to start a rookie QB? Instead of being able to allow Dak to learn from the sidelines he's going to be thrown to the wolves and could possibly lose the confidence he's gained during the preseason if things don't go well. You have an issue with me not agreeing with a FAN who thinks Romo will be back in the lineup in 4 games or less. Lol What's negative about not thinking he'll be back the first month of the season after suffering a broken bone in his back when reports have him out out as long as 10 weeks? After what happened last season with Romo being rushed back with a broken bone that wasn't fully healed and re breaking it, do you honestly believe we're going to rush him back again after suffering a broken bone in his back?

The Cowboys are going to error on the side of caution with this injury especially considering it's the 3rd different back injury he's had since 2013. They've been so cautious with him they've been holding him out of practices during camp to give him some rest. I haven't heard any other team hold their starting QB out of practices to rest them but that's where Romo is at this stage in his career. The last thing we need is to rush him back and have him take a shot that has him clutching his back on the turf again. Try using some common sense for a change instead of posting complaints some of which get deleted and starting threads that end up in the Rant Forum due to your
constant bellyaching.
