“People are going to bet against him. That’s fine, and I don’t think that’s unfair to do so,” Witten said. “But if you know what he’s about, which everybody in this building does, he’s going to be back sooner than probably expected and he’ll play better than anybody thought he would, because I know that’s what he’s about. He’s going to prepare himself. This is a minor setback for him, and he’s done it his entire life, and that gives us all a lot of confidence.”

"I’m not a doctor. I’m not here to give him a sales pitch or anything like that, but I do know what he’s about, I know what his mindset is, and he’ll get back quickly and play at a high level.”

I think a lot of people know that he CAN come back and play at a high level. They question whether he SHOULD. I have great faith in his abilities, I just worry about his long-term health. That it was an injury completely unrelated to past ones is a little better, but still... Anyway, the doctors and coaches should be very conservative with his return and not let him just force his way back in. Make sure he's completely 100% first.

I'm glad that Witten has a good perspective on it. At least he's not running around chastising people as 'bad fans'.

Me neither. Im betting ON Dak to supplant him.

Because Romo is more than likely going to rush back, and get reinjured, just like the collarbone incident.

If Dak does well, Romo won't feel as pressured to come back early. They had ZERO confidences in QB's not named Romo this year and consequently he felt that he had to return early. He and Dak have a good relationship so if Dak does well and keeps the Cowboys in the hunt, Romo can focus on rehab.

Love Witten and the sentiment but a broken bone is a broken bone and has little to do with 'attitude'

Hope he comes back as quick as possible though

This is true. It also has little (read: nothing) to do with his body breaking down or long term health. Get him healed and get him back out there, and pray for some better luck in the future.

It's one thing to question his health, and another to completely write the guy off. He can still pay at a high level.

I still think tony comes back and plays at a high level this season and next year I hope he don't but I think dak and this team will struggle while tony is out he sure has lots of bad luck hope it gets better soon.
