Phillips out...

By Ohm Youngmisuk
ESPNNewYork.com

The New York Giants downgraded safety Kenny Phillips to out when the team announced he did not make the trip to Dallas on Saturday.

Phillips suffered a sprained MCL knee injury during last Sunday's 38-35 loss to Green Bay. Phillips was listed as doubtful for the game on Friday.

I'd feel better if we didnt have a longstanding history of not exploiting the other team's defensive weaknesses.

Look for Romo to throw an interception to whomever Phillips' replacement is.

....but we have NO excuse not to win this game: they are missing Phillips and Umenyora and we have Fiametta and Austin back for this game: but....they've lost 4 in a row and it's OVER for them if they don't win: probably be a dog fight that comes down to the wire: yeah, I know ALL our games come down to the wire.

You would think. Hopefully we make it to be.

Convential wisdom Dallas should win by a comfortable margin, but we ALWAYS play to the level of our competition it seems. Worse yet, we play to their PERCEIVED level of competition. We can play NE to the wire when everyone thinks they are untouchable at home, then lose to a team everyone thought was dead by 30.

Many people think the Giants are almost done, meaning we'll probably lose

Do they have ANYONE in that secondary right now?

I know they were hammered with injuries early on and it took out like 2-3 CBS.

Who have they got left?

The Cowboys' ability to exploit this weaknesses is predicated on their ability to protect Romo. If they fail in the latter, they fail in the former.

They'll be starting Webster, Ross, and Amukamara along with Rolle and Grant at safety.

That's actually not a bad top 3 corners there.
Eh...they're okay, but certainly not as bad as people have been saying.

I think this helps Murray more than anyone. Look for NYG to play a lot of 2-deep Safety coverages limiting big play potential and try to do their best with only 7 in the box vs our running game. We'll move up and down the field but must finish drives with TDs to force them to reconsider. I'm thinking NYG is pretty confident in their offense's ability to drive against our D.

I don't think you would. There are so many other reasons to worry. Just pick the next one and go with it. Youll have plenty of company.

That's two first rounders and a second rounder at CB. A top ten pick and former Pro Bowler at safety. The Giants have actually invested a surprising amount in that secondary of theirs but only Webster is actually a good player in that whole group.

The corners are good, the safeties not.

If anyone cares to remember, Rolle graded out exactly one spot better than Alan Ball at safety last season.

No idea how he's doing now though. Losing Phillips is a blow to them if we can get our TE's rolling up the seam.

Please, by all holy dieties every conceived by man, let Garrett call a screen pass tomorrow night.

And with everything I have been hearing this week the Giants are unbeatable. Right? But all of the sudden they've taken a sudden drop? Win or lose, some fans here will take their agenda-driven theories and poop-pooh it all. BTW, the Aggies suck for going to the SEC where they will get driven like a rented mule by the likes of Bama, LSU, Florida, Arkansas, et cetera, et cetera. Heck, even South Carolina and Kentucky will probably end up beating them. Missouri is SEC bound and we can't beat them either.

Not that you give a rat's ***, but I'm officially off the Aggie-bandwagon after years of support. Hook em' Horns!

Exactly. Take whatever the popular opinion or whatever the weakness of the other team is and expect the opposite to occur.

Weak secondary? We'll probably throw multiple picks or have a hard time passing.
