News: ESPN: Life goes on for Cowboys without Elliott

"We have great confidence in those guys," Garrett said. "They've had success in this league. Obviously Alfred is someone who's been very productive as a runner in this league. Darren was very productive for us a couple years ago and we feel really good about Rod Smith and how he's developed and the role that he can play for us. All of those guys will play and we'll just keep going down the road."
Unfortunately for Goodell and Mara, the Cowboys will be better off than most think the next 6 games.

Can you imagine a rested Zeke in the playoffs?

Is he still able to practice with the team since it's a six "game" suspension and not a six "week" suspension?

no and thats problem with current set up. Zeke has zero football obligations for next 6 weeks.

I am pretty sure he's not allowed at the facility at all.
Then it seems to me they need to re-word to show that they mean weeks and not games.

This sounds like something a first year law student could make issue with.

And people around here are about to learn the difference between team and cog in the wheel

What I'm most worried about is him coming back out of shape, like he was at the beginning of this season.

He's finally back into shape and the suspension comes, I really hope he at least tries to stay in shape and not be Fat Zeke again.

Too bad. The Cowboys started to play real well behind Elliott's running. The NFL really knows how to shoot itself in the foot. Like with Manning..depriving the fans all over the NFL from being able to enjoy one of its biggest stars and attractions. For nothing. It just doesn't make any sense.

I think Zeke will go as the team goes. In other words, if the team keeps winning, Zeke will stay healthy. If we start losing, he'll take a powder thinking there is no use getting ready for the season with no playoff implications.

Isn't it interesting that a bot is telling me to continue reading.

No NewsBot, I don't want to read that. I do not accept that outcome. (fingers in ears) la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la.

As Donk said to Crocodile Dundee, "Get stuffed, Mick."
“I gotta Donk!”

I see us going 4-2 maybe 5-1 over the next 6. The Offensive line has gelled since Cooper was added in. The holes will be there for McFadden, Morris and Smith.

But the real optimism I have is the defense. It's getting better as the games roll by, especially the front seven.

You may be right.
