You can't call the Dallas Cowboys' deal for Roy Williams the league's worst over the last season.

Not after watching what Jay Cutler has done in his first nine games for the Chicago Bears.

The Bears gave up two first-round picks, a third-rounder and an adequate quarterback (Kyle Orton) to get Cutler and a fifth-rounder from the Denver Broncos. He has rewarded them by being an inconsistent, turnover-prone quarterback frequently caught by cameras whining on the sideline after things go wrong. Orton has actually been more successful in Denver than Cutler has been in Chicago.

The Cowboys didn't give up nearly as much to get Williams, sending first-, third- and sixth-round picks to Detroit for the receiver and a seventh-rounder. If the Cowboys would have included Miles Austin, then the Williams deal would have been as lopsided as the Bears' trade for Cutler.

It's laughable now to think that there was local debate about whether the Cowboys should deal Tony Romo for Cutler. The knocks on both quarterbacks at the time were that they committed too many turnovers and had questionable leadership skills. Romo has made great strides in both areas, something that can't be said of Cutler.

Is that supposed to make us feel any better about the trade? No.

It was still a horrible trade unless Roy continues to produce like he did last Sunday.

Haha. Nice. I think what also works in the 'Boys favor is that they're 6-2 as well. I think the Bears made the move they had to but they sure as hell gave the Bronco's a hell of a deal to take Orton off their hands lol.

No its not suppose to make us feel better but I think it should help some of those who feel bad about the deal atleast feel a bit better knowing we didn't give up a starting quarterback, two 1st rounders and a 3rd rounder for a player. If Roy is a bust he only cost us 1 draft. Cutler is costing the Bears two drafts and that's hurtful for a team that needs players.

Screw that. For what we gave up he better start producing at an All-Pro caliber every week.

Cutler is not an elite QB and his body language is just terrible, but he's better than Orton without question. He also plays with a terrible offensive line, terrible receiving core, terrible running game, and terrible defense. With the right coaching on his mechanics and decision making, and a supporting cast that is atleast respectable, he can be a top 10 QB one day without question.

Roy Williams has been a top 20 in this league, once??

That kind of reasoning is stupid.

That's like looking in the mirror and staring at your gut, which makes you look like you're 6 months pregnant... Then you watch an episode of The Biggest Loser and you say, "AT LEAST I'M NOT THAT GUY! LOL"

You're still a fatass.

I think there is definitely some question there. He doesn't have the maturity and discipline on the field, period. That doesn't just happen because you're older...you have to want it to happen. He doesn't.

The writer is surprised that the Bears gave up much more for a young, franchise QB than we forked over for Williams? Apples and oranges.

Fantastic. The writer is attacking Jerry Jones like he makes bad deals or something. Jerry is an amazing GM, as evidenced by his previous deals such as trading for Joey Galloway, and trading away TD machine Anthony Fasano. Great track record there. Nice. Hey Jerry, Matt Millen and Al Davis want to know when you are going to stop making bad moves as a GM.

They have talent.

But when you run that offense with those receivers, nothing will get done.

If Roy Williams played QB, this kind of comparison would be relevant.

Only thing that is going to so call get the Cowboys off the hook is Williams and Romo going out and making plays. Cutler trade has nothing to do with anything.

Sorry I dont see the correlation. A bad trade is a bad trade.

"Without question" was probably an overstatement. But like I said, if you can get the right coaching to shape him up, I dont doubt that he can become a much better QB.

Aaron Rodgers plays with the exact same problems that Cutler does except Rodgers has the better receivers but qbs in this league could do more with Knox, Hester and Olsen than Cutler is doing right now.

I guess i'd rather be a fatass than a lard ***. Fat *** can walk around and atleast see his own junk. A lard *** has to lay the bed all day without doing anything for himself. :)

Much more young? Cutler is a year younger than Orton lol.

Oh NO! We traded the GREAT ANTHONY FASANO. GOODNESS. That trade set us back 10 years. We're never going to contend. Get the hell outta here with this nonsense. The only terrible deal Jerry made was the Galloway. He's made some questionable signings but for the price he had to pay i'm not even sure if those are questionable.

My thing with Cutler is that he just looks like a loser. He has a nonchalant attitude about making mistakes but soon as you criticize him he becomes a ******. And the way he handled that situation in Denver was ridiculous.

Are we talking about the Anothony Fasano that has 14 catches for 113 yards and 1 TD in 8 games this season?

Well, at least you didn't say "rack 'em" or whatever at the end of that
