IRVING, Texas -- Rod Marinelli likes what he saw from his Dallas Cowboys defense in the spring. The defensive coordinator liked that he has more players along the defensive line. He likes the linebackers’ “movement skills.” He likes how cornerbacks Brandon Carr, Orlando Scandrick and Morris Claiborne can play man to man. He likes the growth J.J. Wilcox made at safety opposite Barry Church. But there’s something else Marinelli likes about the group.
