Michael Sam, the NFL’s most high-profile practice squad player, is doing a good job in practice but you shouldn’t expect him to join the active roster anytime soon. Injuries, of course, always present an opportunity. Other than that, though, the best thing Sam can do is continue to learn the system, maximize his time in the weight room and be a ready to earn a spot on the roster next season. The Cowboys didn’t rush the passer well last season, and they didn’t sack Colin Kaepernick last week.
