Interesting story in this morning's Los Angeles Times about how Darren McFadden's mom, Mini Muhammad, doesn't want her son being drafted by the Jets or the Raiders. She thinks both New York and the Bay Area are too big and would like Darren to end up with the Falcons, Cowboys or "whatever team they've got there in Tennessee."

Ms. Muhammad, that would be the Tennessee Titans. In the end, she said her preference would be Dallas, a sleepy little town located in North Texas.
"But we want what's good for him, whatever they say. I'd rather particularly he'd go to Dallas, I really do."
Muhammad will be releasing her final mock draft at a famous New York piano bar later this evening. Right now, she has her son slipping all the way to the Titans at No. 24, but that's just a rough draft.

But in all seriousness, the team that drafts McFadden isn't just drafting the Arkansas running back. I'm told that his entire family (11 brothers and sisters) might end up in that city. And as one Arkansas football coach put it recently, "that's a little different situation there."

Let's just say that Muhammad and her children plan on having quite a bit of involvement in Darren's life. Just something to ponder as we prepare for tomorrow.

Darren McFadden, Mini Muhammad, Jerry Jones, NFL draft

If he slips to #22 HELLZ YEAH but it won't happen

I am against trading up for the guy because it would take picks and money but if he somehow started sliding and made it to 10, I think it would be time to start thinking about moving up.

She should have been asking Cleveland to mail in the season last year.

As long as we still get a very good cb I'm all for it.

On a serious note, I find it interesting that his mother is putting it out there that New York and the Bay Area might be "too big" for him. Given the very, very minor character concerns already out there, this would make me pause just a tad if I'm the Raiders or Jets.

Mother Mcfadden needs to chill. If he goes to the jets, i believe he's could become a big enough star to knock Eli off the backpages of the new york papers. People in New york are saying Mcfadden could be the biggest draft pick since Namath. If he's a hit your talking about endorsements galore. You go were your drafted.

So why is her "little boy" all over the NY tabloids this week, practically begging the Jets to draft him and the city to adopt him?

Good grief I know the difference, this draft has got me all out of whack...loved when he had his own show.

Saddest part is I was just watching Big momma this morning on one of the movie channels.

From what I have read, his family is probably the scariest thing about him, in my opinion.

Can't be any worse than Lebron James' mom, who shows up at games wearing mink coats and draped in diamonds.

Don't hate the player's mom, hate the game.
