Love Emmitt for what he did on field for us, and gotta love Michael for being the homer he is. Watched NFL Network preview of season this afternoon with Deion, Faulk, Mooch, and Irvin - and Irvin was the truest homer ever saying we would go to SuperBowl against Diego, hehe!
Gotta love Mike. He bleeds Cowboys!
Emmitt has a point about leadership, although I do think people change and mature. Parcells kicked Emmitt and his Domino gang out of town because there was a bit of a leadership issue there potentially. Emmitt was a bit spoiled (and so were we all) to have had an Aikman who was such a consumate leader, but Aikman wasn't yanking Olinemen by the facemask his first season or even his second if I remember correctly. Takes a bit of success to give a person the chops to be leader sometimes.
Yeah, Emmitt does have an ego, but I guess he deserves one. Just tough to see him go against his team. Interesting that he says he texted Romo a bunch last year about demanding excellence, etc. Can't fault him for that, shows he cares, and maybe he is just disgusted at end result from last year. Hypocritically though, it wasn't exactly TO that was the consumate team guy and stepping up the most in the biggest games either, yet Emmitt constantly talks about replacing his production (also a fair point) but not about TO's shortcomings as a "winner" (what has TO done to get teams over the top - close but no cigar).
