Look at Pacman Jones on the Bengals. Terrance Newman looked decent on another team after he left here, when he was considered done in Dallas. Look at Ware. I bring Claiborne back for a decent, but not excessive contract. Corners are extremely expensive. Look at what Philly paid for Maxwell and look at how he performed.

There is some direction being added to the coaching perspective this season. The needs of the secondary is receiving intense discussion and the addition of a new Coach that will be responsible for change back in the secondary.

That was brought out as well as personnel...

Then he'll go on and become a pro bowl corner for another team, while we sit here and wonder what CB will take in next years draft.

So,we should keep him then?

I'd like to keep him. Mo is like Dunbar. I can see there is talent there, but it's frustrating that he can't stay healthy.

I only see Carr as the cap killer and low producer. Competant only, shouldn't get paid at the very tops of a salary list.

Carr only took up 9.23% of the entire Cap in 2015. The average team cost for cornerback through the NFL, was 8.09% of a team's budget.

Want a top shelf secondary...pay for it, but don't pay at other positions as well. Carr doesn't deserve a job with Dallas now. Another 'rookie' contract almost has to be in the works now...

I don't think Mo has ever really been solid for any stretch of games

Unless you're just saying some sensationalist stuff then that's not true.

There was a period this past season before he got hurt where he was showing stuff to be a very good corner in this league. He was building some momentum up until the Bucs game where he struggled with Mike Evans a bit and hurt his hamstring. And it's not like he was getting burned that game even.

The difference between them and Claiborne is they were all pretty good players here, Pacman before he came here. Claiborne never really flashed:

4 years - 3 interceptions, 22 passes defended (Marcus Peters nearly tripled his INT total and surpassed his passes defended last season, as a rookie)

I'm not even advocating going out and spending big money on a corner, you can get this same production out of a couple of 5th rounders or a UDFA. Whether its the scheme or the players something just isn't working here.

Claiborne has little need to adjust to system now, and actually focus with what changes are introduced now by the team and a new defensive secondary coach.

They are already 0 INT Black Holes. They accounted for almost 20m on the salary cap last year for zero production. All they do is show up.

DAL has plenty of resources to replace them in the draft and FA. Plus we have

OScan
BJones
TMitchell
DOlatoye

That list is even more ridiculous then the one we had last year. And they don't have plenty of resources. They really don't even need to use any resources in the secondary I'd they truly are a 'bend but don't break' defense. If that's what you are it would make far more sense to invest in your front seven then it would your secondary. Their secondary seems to do exactly what they want. Throw all up and down the field just don't get beat and pray for a fumble or a bad pass from the quarterback.

What has Jones done as a CB that makes you excited about him at that position? Him getting dusted for late TDs in 3 games? That's not an impressive list you just showed. I mean, Mitchell and Olatoye? Two late round/undrafted guys? Scandrick, the nickel corner?

And I will ask once again, show me a FA CB we should sign. There are two quality starting CB on the market, Sean Smith and Jenkins. Who else? Amukamara? He's injured more than Mo, and doesn't play much better. Leon Hall? We rid of both Mo and Carr, despite them not being all-pro, we leave holes that will be tough to fill.

Dude, you're here all the time and you haven't seen one thread about FA corners?

Trumaine Johnson
Janoris Jenkins
Casey Hayward

Johnson and Jenkins are both scheme fits and one will be on the market. Hopefully Johnson.

If I wanted a mediocre #2 that's going to get injured, I'd go sign 35 year old Tillman for 1 mill, and he's still probably better than any corner on the roster not named Scandrick.

People need to remember...that 7 wonderlic score.

Floaty, you've mistakenly overstated Claiborne's wonderlic score by 75%. His actual score was 4.

A wonderlic score of 3 is required for basic bodily operations -- breathing, blinking, digesting, etc.... Claiborne is basically barely above the line. You have to wonder if he is mentally capable of breathing and diagnosing WR patterns at the the same time with that little brain capacity....

Claiborne has said on multiple occasions he thought the wonderlic was stupid and had nothing to to with football so he started bubbling in answers. He didn't even try to take that test.

I'd say that too if I got a 4 on the Wonderlic.

In truth my understanding is that Claiborne had some sort of learning disability (dyslexia) -- the could have contributed.

I think you answered it yourself. Not much out there to sign but if BJones takes a starting role they can get by with a midlevel vet. A couple of those plays against BJones-CB were the fault of the safety and he also got burned a couple times as a FS. If he can play both, I want him as CB.

We can sign Weddle or Gipson for a cheap deal at FS and Church and Wlicox can fight it out for SS. OSCan needs to be more than the slot CB.

Casey Hayward is hardly what I'd consider a big upgrade or someone to be excited about.

So, we have two Rams' conerbacks, one of them will most likely be resigned. So, one quality FA CB will be on the market that we will have to get into a bidding war against?

Scandrick didn't turn into Scandrick until his second contract. A lot of people were mad that Jerry gave him that contract and Scandrick is a bum rhetoric was not uncommon. If you can get Claiborne back for maybe 5 to 7 million a year, bring him back and see what he does.

for where he was drafted MO is a bust. Will he turn out to be average maybe maybe not. But he will never live u p to the expectations that has been set for him with the cowboys so yes its time to move on, for him and us.
