NFL Nation reporters from the NFC East -- Phil Sheridan, Dan Graziano, John Keim and Todd Archer -- have crunched the numbers, ran through the analysis, double-checked their notes and gone with some gut feelings. This week, they are offering up their NFC East Awards. Today they close the awards with the division’s Most Valuable Player. Tony Romo was tied for third in the Associated Press MVP vote with two first-place votes. DeMarco Murray also received two votes, but in the NFC East voting, Romo received all four first-place votes.

MVP for sure, imo.
And yes, it's a great example of the difference between POY and MVP--they don't have to be one in the same .

Still, I'll never get why these guys can't even get basic stats right.
34 TDs was not his career best.
Also, the 9 picks only tied his career low...and he did it the last time playing one more game.

4 TDs and 0 ints in the payoffs was nice too. The playoff numbers are a great example of how quickly stats change when the sample size is low. He now has 8 TDs and only 2 ints in 6 playoff games. His playoff QB rating of 93 in extremely high...relatively speaking. Sample size is still too small, but just sayin'.

Funny thing is, one could probably argue 3 to 4 players deep into the DC franchise before referring to any other NFCE team for a MVP candidate.

About as obvious as me losing to Tryon Smith in a wrestling match after downing a six-pack and Valium.

Demarco Murray's production set the tone for our entire team and it made Tony Romo and everybody else better.

So I would go with Murray. And if you feel that Murray was a product of the OL, then the Cowboys offensive line as a whole was the most valuable.

Tony was the best player after thanksgiving. Before then, he wasn't on any MVP radar.

I dunno - he'd be pretty drowsy after all that - you might take him.

P.S. - I get it.

Yeah, I know. I was going to write "after I downed....", but that would not have been proper football-message-board etiquette....Lol

As most players weren't in contention either before the T-Day game.
Brady and Rodgers always are, because they are the media darlings, can do no wrong. But Rodgers had a streak where he wasn't playing all that well either, and could and should have been out of the discussion. But the media love won't allow it. Though he did come back to play well on an over hyped injury to get those votes.

Some people confuse "Best Player" with MVP.

The MVP is the player who would hurt your team the most if they lost him.
For Dallas, that answer should be totally clear.

You can argue that Murray had the best season, but Romo was clearly the MVP.
They are complete toast without him.

Murray was top three at mid way point of the season. Lebron even twitted Murray was MVP in the middle of the season.

Not even you can possibly think Murray is the same level of importance to this team as Romo is. Come on, bro. That's just ridiculous. That's not any slight to Murray as he was great. But the gap in importance between someone who was a top 3-5 franchise QB in the league and a RB, at any level, is wider than the grand canyon.

What about Eli Manning. I mean he's got two rings. That should count for something...
