Thursday is the deadline for the Cowboys to offer tender contracts to their 13 restricted free agents. As of Monday night, we've been told nothing has happened.

The San Francisco 49ers tendered contracts to guard David Baas and linebacker Ahmad Brooks. The Washington Commanders are expected to tender a contract to quarterback Jason Campbell.

The New Orleans Saints announced contract tenders to at least 13 players, including Irving native and former Cowboys defensive tackle Remi Ayodele.

Here are the Cowboys restricted free agents: WR Miles Austin, DT Stephen Bowen, CB Cletis Gordon, DE Jason Hatcher, WR Sam Hurd, T Pat McQuistan, C/G Duke Preston, G Cory Procter, S Gerald Sensabaugh, DT Junior Siavii, DE Marcus Spears, K Shaun Suisham and S Pat Watkins.
well they better get srarted r they will b sorry

Gordon, Hurd, McQuistan, Proctor and Suisham are average and taking up roster spots. They can all hit the road as far as I'm concerned.

Lowest tenders on Sensabaugh, Watkins, Siavii and Preston.

2nd tenders on Hatcher, Bowen and Spears.

1st and 3rd tender on Austin.

I don't want to make the same mistake with Sensabaugh, that we made with Hamlin....nothing long term! Spears, Hatcher and Bowen's services will be in demand as 3-4 DE's and we need all 3 to rotate with Olshansky. Watkins, Siavii and Preston need to compete in camp to hold their job, but can still be replaced. Austin is a no-brainer.

Give original tenders to Hatcher and Spears. Hatcher was a 3rd and Spears a 1st.

I think Hatcher and Bowen deserve 2nd rounders, taking into account that it's not exactly easy to find 6-5/6, 305lb, 25yr old, 3-4 DE's with their experience. Spears is no longer a 1st round talent IMO...I don't think he ever was.

The Combine is over, Free Agency starts Friday, so tomorrow and Thursday everyone can breathe easy as the tenders get done. Personally I am glad the staff focused on the Combines. Plenty of time to take care of business, and we will take care of it.

The original tenders would save Jerry money.

Hurd had 2 good games if I recall? He made a huge play during the Seahawks game and I forget the other one but it was a dam nice game.
I don't care what he did against the Seahawks. We beat them by 3 touchdowns.

The other was a long catch and run against either the Gints or Carolina...I'm not sure.

Other than the Giants season opener a couple of years ago I can't remember him doing much of anything in the regular season of value.

I think it will be all but Gordon, Preston and Suisham.

I don't think we lose Hurd until someone beats him for a roster spot.

Our tackle depth is spotty since we don't know what we've got in Brewster, so it's smart to hold on to McQuistan for now.

And Watkins also is a core special-teammer who I think will at least make it to camp before numbers cut him.

Looks like I'll be close (depending on what happens with Preston).

I think signing Gordon to the low veteran contract was a good move. He's good enough to take to camp, but wasn't worth a tender. (But he didn't receiver a tender, so I was correct about him ;) )
