what injury issues?
He's had knee and ankle issues since 2002.
technique doesn't decline w/ age, or do you think he's getting senile at the old age of 33...
Actually certain aspects of technique decline with age, knee bending becomes harder, foot work goes down hill, etc.....
Flo never was the most athletic OT, he relies on his size, strength and arm-reach to be effective, last year he gave up like what? 2 sacks?
If I'm not mistaken he gave up 3.5, which is damn good.

So elaborate on why you think he's actually getting better not worse. I see a guy who is getting older, has some 'injury issues,' still bends at the waist and is getting worse, lacks the ability to get to the second level, relies far too much on power and not enough on technique, and has bad footwork. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to understand that with age these skills will continue to diminish. As it stands right now, even with his flaws, he's no doubt still a top tier player; but that doesn't mean he's perfect or too good to go uncriticized.

He shut down every top pass rusher we faced. The question isn't whether his form is A+ perfect, but whether or not he gets the job done. There is no question in that regard.

And while he may not be the best at getting to the second level in the run game, he is the reason this offense has been so "left-handed" in the run game since he's been here.

So your beef is his technique is not picture perfect? Because it surely cannot be on performance.

I think you mean *A* knee issue, and that was 3 years ago, with no problems since.

It's pretty clear that he isn't what he was five years ago, and it's completely understandable considering his age. Even in his decline he's still a top four or five OT in the league, nothing wrong with that.

Flozell has a BETTER year last year than he had 5 years ago.

People need to get off of him about his false starts. I believe he is deaf in his right ear?

From what perspective? I saw a guy who is getting slower with his kick step and is bending at the waist more than ever.
Remind him of that when you're in Oxnard this year. :D

When pass rushers with only 3-4 years experience from around the division name Flo as the best, that is all I need. It's sad that as soon as a player reaches 30+, people want to jump to conclutions that his "skills have diminished.

His false starts are enough to drive me to pull out both hairs, but you have to give him his props as one of the best--RIGHT NOW.

John.C(Bethlaham Park): Justin, Who has been the tougest O-lineman that you have faced so far in your career?

Justin Tuck: Flozell Adams. He is a huge human being.

FYI, I was listening to ESPN radio and Umenyura was on one of those Hot Seat segments. He also said Flo when asked who was the toughest OL he faced.

I don't see the decline either - outside of the false starts, last year was probably the best of his career. He owned every elite pass rusher he played and continued his excellence in run blocking.

Will he maintain that over the course of his contract - probably not.

I know.. Flo is so big he sweats a river just walking to the huddle. I swear he looks like he's going into cardiac arrest after every play.

You're right....he's gotten better.

Generally O-linemen get better with age. It's injuries coupled with age that slow down linemen from being effective into their late 30's.

osi said the same thing two weeks on espn.

So throw in Strahan saying that the Cowboys were the best team they faced in playoffs(not the Pats)....

and what does that do for us?

NOTHING! :banghead:
