Our team:

9 (11) Cowboys 9-7-0 The Cowboys' players sure seem glad to have Wade Phillips in place of Bill Parcells. But will he actually make them a better team?

......and our best friends ( :D ):

31 (30) Browns 4-12-0 The Browns had a solid offseason, remaking their offensive line with the addition of Joe Thomas and Eric Steinbach. But a solid offseason won't help Romeo Crennel if the Browns have another 4-12 season

If this team doesn't make the playoffs this year under a new coach and two new coordinators, say possibly going 8-8 or 9-7, I think many fans are going to absolutely implode.

And if adding a safety no one was lining up for and a OG whom many looked at as a first round bust at OT, along with some rookies, makes us an NFC championship or super bowl contender, then I'd have to say Bill Parcells reputation is certainly down the toilet and he'll have to enter the HOF based almost solely on his tenure with the Giants.

This is going to be a very interesting year.

There is no way those 2 guys will have taht great of an impact alone, they aren't what will take us to the next level. And if this team wins the Super Bowl, Parcells reputation will not be hurt, it will improve. Its still largely HIS team, he will have built another champion.

Thats how I see it anyways.

I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I'm going to quote Warren Sapp from a few years ago when the Bucs won the Superbowl. He said something like "Tony Dungy baked the cake, and John Gruden came in and put the icing on the cake."

So if the Cowboys win the Superbowl, that's what it'll be. Parcells built the team's foundation, and Wade put the icing on, adding the final touches that were needed.

You really gotta wonder how much Crennel has?.... If it depends on next season.. HE IS GONE!

Thank you for saying that. I totally agree that if the Boys go all the way, BP is a big reason why. Yes, Wade's d scheme might play the biggest part, but the personnel in it is BP's. Not only is the people, but IMO, the hard work, discipline andmental toughness is a great reflection of what BP brought to this dismal team 4 yrs ago.

More like: Parcells went to the store and bought the groceries and Wade baked it and put the icing on the cake.

I like your sig CowboyMike can I get one made like the one you have?

I had to settle for only 4 people in mine. But I still appreciate it greatly.

An excellent question. We'll get to see the answer bye and bye.

Lots of good stories and questions in the rankings. The Cowboys are placed fourth in the NFC and, yet again, behind the Eagles in the division. We'll see a lot of that before the season begins.

It is interesting in a supposedly lopsided NFL, the AFC has nine teams, and the NFC has seven in the top 16. It is only in the top four slots that the rankings become an exclusively AFC club. Are the Ravens that good? Do the Bears get a free ride in the NFC North once again? Will the Commanders be able to dig out of the hole they are in?

If the Giants finish 8-8 again, I think Tom Coughlin will be gone. Who would be the top candidate to replace him.....Parcells? Norm Chow?

67 days to camp....where's that countdown clock? ;)

Except for the fact that he couldn't coach the team or get them to perform well enough to win many games or any playoff games...he's not going into the hall as a gm...and since he left it seems he's giving JJ more credit/blame for the players he had in camp.

But I'll admit my hatred and lack of respect for Parcells taints my opinion :)

I hated seeing him on our sidelines worse than Switzer, and I've always hated Oklahoma too.

BP will go into the HOF based on his entire career- which is a lead pipe cinch.
Now if the Boys really explode this year its 50/50 for and against BP. He put it together, but was unable to get it to work right.

If ne did NOTHING else, Parcells rehabilitated Jerry's reputation as an owner, and taught him how to be a better general manager and football guy.

Plus the talent level on this team is much higher than it was when he took over.

And yes, 9th is fair.
