Is anyone really shocked?

I mean, this guy does not know for sure, so this is not the end of any possibility.

But I would be more shocked if they, cowboys AND the panthers, wound up making a trade.

I don't see how a team can trade away its' top player and not look like they're giving up on the season.

And I don't think that the coach or GM are in any position to trade away Smith.

They need all the help they can get to keep their jobs.

I think that was part of the reason they traded away next year's #1 in the '08 draft.

We could sweeten the deal, I guess, by getting Rae Carruth reinstated for them.

Even if he were on the block, I think the only way the Panthers would even consider it is if Dallas put together an Herchel Walker package of players and draft picks. Dallas would probably have to give up a package of young players like Jason Hatcher and Kevin Burnet, the result of the trade would create 3 new holes in the roster to fill 1.

Looks like our supposed young genius offensive cordinator will just have to find some way to make due with a Pro Bowl QB, an All Pro WR, an All Pro TE, three Pro Bowl offensive linemen, a Pro Bowl RB, a 1st round pick complementary RB.

Keep Jason Garrett in your thoughts and prayers .. he's really in a bind here.
