IRVING, Texas -- High school football in Texas has evolved from "run first, pass later," to "pass first, and don't ever run." Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, considered one of the top players at his position, is from Palestine, Texas, two hours southeast of Dallas. When Peterson was in high school, running the ball was still in vogue. He rushed for 305 yards and six touchdowns in the first half of a game in 2003, his senior season.
