Play of the Day: Dez does it again

By Tim MacMahon

SAN ANTONIO – It’s getting monotonous to give Dez Bryant props in this space, but the dude keeps making spectacular plays.

And it’s often against Pro Bowl competition.

Bryant got a step on Mike Jenkins while running a stutter-go during 1-on-1 drills, which is an impressive feat in itself. Then Bryant came back to snare an underthrown pass from Matt Nichols, making a leaping catch and falling into the end zone for a 45-yard touchdown.

It was the second time Bryant got a step on Jenkins deep during the session. Jenkins managed to recover to deflect a slightly underthrown pass the previous time.

Bryant is likely to see a lot of man coverage this season, with opponents having to scheme to stop Miles Austin and Jason Witten. He’s proven that he can create major problems in those situations.

“They can’t cover Miles one-on-one,” Bryant said Sunday. “I’m pretty sure they’re going to double him, and that’s going to leave the rest of us open to make a play.

“When I see it, I’m going to get excited.”

He won’t be the only one.

This guy is going to be lights out.

Can you imagine the Skins on opening day trying to play this dude one on one with D.Hall or Rogers ??!!??

They would look worse than D.Hall did when he was with the Raiders trying to cover Royal w/Denver in Royal's rookie season when he lit his arse up.:laugh1:

The Nature Boy says this:

To be the best, you have to beat the best.

Right now, Dez is taking aim at the best.

Don't take too many trips to Hollywood, Miles.

Dez is coming for you...

Wooooooooooo!

Asante Samuel and DeAngelo Hall are going to ask their defensive coordinator to move to the other side, after Dez Bryant torches them....:)

Dez going against the first team corners is a very good thing.

If you can get open against Mike Jenkins and Terence Newman you can get open against almost anybody.

We've had a lot of reasons to be excited about next years team before the draft, but the league messed up letting us get Dez. Barring injury this can be a 450-500 point offense.

If this is what it sounds like, wow.

Jenkins can flat out play.

If Dez is beating him at all, let alone with any regularity...just wow.

And just think, the guy hasn't played any organized ball for nearly a year. Wait until he really gets his legs under him and a few games under his belt.
