ESPN: Possible Cowboys FA targets

I like Levitre on this list.

Safety will not be addresed in free agency. They like Church and Johnson obviously. Seny provides depth/security.

Dline and pass rush have to be upgraded as well.

I dont really think there will be much in FA. And this is the right choice. Dallas needs to continue the youth movement.

They need to add at least one veteran OL. You can not go into the draft with this slop as your starting line. You'd either have to reach on OL picks or stick to your board and risk not doing a thing to upgrade the biggest weakness on your team once again.

It would be insanity not to address it in FA.

Andre Smith is a FA as well. He's a dominant run blocker and good pass blocker. The weight and injury problems seem to be behind him at this point.

OK but if Dallas has a chance to get Warmack or Cooper you go that route. Cheaper younger. Where Dallas will be drafting Thats right about where Warmack and Cooper should be going. Hell Warmack might be gone. Dallas might be choosing between Barrett Jones and Cooper

Knighten would be an excellent pick up along with Levitre. Wallace would be nice but he'll want too much money.

Really? Did you see him play last night? That kid from the Eagles who gave Free fits (Graham) dominated Smith all night. Smith was apparently benched at one point.

No I didn't bother to watch the game I had no idea he played that badly. From what I've heard is the last 2 years he's played very well especially in the run game. I don't know if 1 bad game should be looked at as indicative of the guy's ability to play the game though.

Brandon Graham's starting to emerge for the Eagles.

Some of these guys won't actually make it to free agency. Some will re-sign. Others will get tagged.

For instance, Denver would be out of their mind if they let Clady become an UFA. He is what I hope Tyron Smith can be some day.

The only thing he's done consistently is over eat

Albert can play OT or OG. Athletic and big enough to play in either a zone or man scheme.

So Free doesn't suck?

No free sucks and so does Andre smith, and after the few choice words Than had with him i doubt Dallas will want him.

Brendon Albert would ne a perfect RT for us, young and can move. I doubt KC lets him walk tjough. Looks like we will have to go draft for a RT.

Many in KC thought the same thing when Brandon Carr was a FA.

This guy compiled a list of the top 25 free agents who are in the best position to cash in this spring with a big deal and what teams should be interested. He links a few to the Cowboys.

5. Wes Welker | WR | Current team: New England Patriots
You could argue that teammate Sebastian Vollmer has more cash to play for (and likely will land the bigger deal), and you could argue that Welker is a creation of the system, an extended handoff for Tom Brady. But that the New England offense lost Rob Gronkowski and hasn't skipped a beat is a credit to Welker, who will reach 120-plus catches this season for the third time in his career. And, as an unrestricted free agent, he might be ready to prove he's more than a system creation.

Fit: Clearly, it's New England, but Welker would be really interesting in Denver, Dallas or even Washington.

-

8. Jairus Byrd | S | Current team: Buffalo Bills
He's not a star, but maybe he should be. Byrd has a Pro Bowl under his belt, as well as a season when he led the NFL in interceptions. Plus, Pro Football Focus has him rated as the top cover safety in the NFL. He'll be an unrestricted free agent in a market that's short on impact at the safety position. Byrd also will have a history of good health; if he finishes this season, he'll have played in 48 consecutive games. If he stays healthy, he'll be in line for a huge deal.

Fit: Dallas could desperately use a safety who covers this well. But so could Detroit, New Orleans, the Jets and maybe even Pittsburgh.

-

10. Sebastian Vollmer | OT | Current team: New England Patriots
The Patriots have their future at left tackle in Nate Solder and might not be willing to go big on a deal to keep Vollmer, a right tackle who missed the bulk of 2011 to injury. But if he finishes strong -- and New England opts to devote free-agency resources elsewhere -- Vollmer could get big money after what has been a very good season.

Fit: Indy, Chicago, Arizona and Dallas should all pick up the phone.

I doubt the sideline argument makes any difference in evaluation -- you want fighters on your team. You'd love that if it was your guy.

I know Free sucks. I was pointing out the irony of wanting a guy who got destroyed by someone who Free was widely criticized for getting beaten by.

The OL will never be better unless we can draft and develop guys. You just can't rely on FA signings year after year. Of course, that means using 1st and 2nd rounders on OL and doing that with greater frequency. It means using more mid round picks on OL. You do that for 3-4 years in a row and you end up with a few long term guys that can lock down a position for years.

Good to see you again, Robert. Any preference from that list?

Thanks, I'm always around the Draft Zone. The FZ moves too fast for me.

I would go all-in for Byrd and one of the tackles.

Why are people all over Byrd? Clearly we like our Safeties
