ESPN Radio specluation on Shanahan

John Stashour(sp) and Mel Kiper just interviewed a radio guy in DC/Balt (used to be Kipers radio partner) and he said speculation is Shanahan will be hired as President of FO (he would be Bruce Allens boss and make all personnel and coaching decisions) and that Shanahan would then hire his son Kyle as HC.

If true, good riddance. Shanahan has pretty much proven to be a flop as a personnel guy.

I'd love it, though. Shanahan would be the Albert Haynesworth of GMs.

That would be a colossal mistake. Besides being a mediocre coach IMO, he wouldn't last a week with the DFW media.

If Stoops is hired I may just give up Cowboys football for the next 3-5 years. Even though it would only take 2 or 3 for him to get run out of town it would take another 2-3 to recover.

I dont think its that ridiculous, most dont regard Allen as a real GM anyway, they think of him more of an operations/salary cap guy. Thats why all these boneheads in CZ claiming that Snyder "he gets it now and Jones still doesnt!!!!" was so laughable. Also, everyone has to remember who Allen's daddy is, its one of Snyder's heroes. I dont thnik anybody else in the NFL would have hired Allen as a real GM.
