I have never been interested enough to research the biographies for the PFF guys. It would be sad if they lack backgrounds in the sport(s) they track.
That's how they started out like 5-10 years ago, I was into fantasy football back then and that's when I heard about those 2-3 guys from that website. That's all they did back then, but they ditched the FF part and now they just focus on NFL stats. They have no background in football, they're just a bunch of fans who have a subscription to NFL Gamepass and whatever they think they see they "grade" and then you get their absolutely silly rankings/grading system that is based on nothing but guesses. But hey, they have Watt as the best defensive player so obviously they must be experts. That's usually the one argument people make that pay for a subscription over there. A monkey could point out the fact that Watt is clearly better than the rest of the defenders, you'd have to be pretty stupid not to see that. These guys like I said don't know what they're talking about. Even as an ex NFL player or coach it's impossible to grade blockers if you don't know what their assignment is. It's impossible to grade coverages if you don't know the calls and who is supposed to do what. It's impossible to grade linebackers if you don't know what they're supposed to do, if you don't know the call. What you CAN use that PFF website for is for basic stats, that's what they do well. Snaps, who lines up where, who gets targeted the most, drops maybe even, missed tackles maybe, QB hits, stuff like that. But to grade coverage, blocking and whatnot is just silly, anybody can do that and we'd all have different "rankings", that doesn't mean I'm more right than you or the PFF guys are more right than I am. They don't know more about the calls than anyone else does, their grades are no more accurate than mine or yours would be. ANYWAY.... :D

LOL at the Saints being ahead of Dallas in the rankings.

Same for Detroit, Minnesota, and Cincy.

Ridiculous.

Philly... well, I don't really see that either but it doesn't seem silly like Det, Minn, and Cincy does.

How in God's Green Earth they can look at what Dallas did last year and then look at what they've done this offseason and say they will be worse?

Even without adding anyone on the OL, that unit would be better simply because of all the young guys growing together.

The DL will be light years ahead because of Russell, Hardy, and Gregory being added along with Lawrence being healthy for the full season.

The LB's will be better simply with Sean Lee healthy. The depth there will be much better too.

Oh well, I'd rather see ESPN under rating Dallas instead of over rating them just so they can give them hell when they don't win the super bowl.

After Dallas wins the Super Bowl this year, we will get the last laugh . :lmao:

Seeing that they have the 49ers ranked at #2, wrecked any creditability immediately.
I'm guessing the true way they arrived at these rankings is by pulling teams out of a hat.

I continue to be baffled by all the Eagles love.

But I welcome it. I want the team to play with a big "they don't respect us" chip on their shoulders.

I totally agree. The only position that the overrated Eagles upgraded was at running back. Every other position is a big question mark. The Cowboys are the better team by far. Not even close

Post #11 has the 2015 rankings and SF is at 17. That is probably still to high.
