IRVING, Texas -- There was a time when the Dallas Cowboys would not approach the agents of their draft picks until the week before training camp to get a deal finalized. On Tuesday, second-round pick DeMarcus Lawrence became the last of the team's nine draft picks to sign, receiving a four-year deal worth $5.506 million and $3.895 million guaranteed. Thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement, the negotiations do not need to take a long time to finalize.
