Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:01 PM ET ) Welcome lets get started.
rob (nj): chuck, what is wrong with the eagles D right now? On paper, they should be playing a lot better.
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:03 PM ET ) Early in the year when their offense was putting up a lot of points it was forcing teams to throw the ball to keep up which hide the fact that the Eagles have trouble stopping the run. Now teams are just running the ball because the Eagles linebackers can not get off blocks, poor tackling. They need a bigger body at nose tackle that eats up 2 blockers.
Ray Powdrell, Ruckersville Va: With sundays win over Carolina, do you think the giants are back in the hunt for the division and possible a super bowl contender as well
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:05 PM ET ) They were really never out of the divisional race and now that the Cowboys have lost they have closed the gap and will force Dallas to play smart the rest of the way. As for the super bowl the Giants have too many issues that super bowl teams do not have.
Mike Ma : Do you belive that Sean Payton plaid a role in how bad Tony Romo played because he coahed him in the past and do you belive dallas is not good enough to beat a tem like the saints or did they just have a bad day
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:08 PM ET ) A combination of the three. Payton new any weakness that Romo might have had but he knew how to attack the Cowboys defense. The Cowboys had a really bad game and were out played. The Saints are playing good football.
Scott (Hamden, CT): Great chat, Chuck. The Eagles moved SS Sean Considine into the starting lineup a few weeks ago because starting SS Michael Lewis (a better run defender) was struggling in pass defense. Since that time, the Eagles' run defense has been atrocious. Should they consider moving Lewis back into his starting spot?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:10 PM ET ) Scott changing safeties has not had any effect on the run game because most offenses like to run the ball away from the safety becasue they do not count him in the run support.
Nate (Washington): Hi Chuck. Not sure if you caught any of the commentary from the Skins/Eagles yesterday, but one of the announcers (Brian Baldinger I believe) claimed that Betts was a better back than Portis. With Betts signing an extension, where does that leave Portis and Duckett?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:12 PM ET ) Yea I caught the game but I missed the comment by Brian. I do not know what film he has been watching. It will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season. The Commanders might be trying to protect themselves if Portis get hurt again.
Johnny (School): Do the Giants or the Eagles have any chance at catching the Cowboys for 1st in the division. Whoever wins the game between the two this week would have the best shot, with the Giants playing a lot better
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:14 PM ET ) The Giants have the better chance to win the division if the Cowboys fall because of their schedule.
Xander (Philly): I bet you're giving the Birds no chance against the Giants next week, aren't you?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:16 PM ET ) No, because the Giants have an excellent running atttack and the Eagles have been so poor at stopping the run. If I was the Giants I would run the ball down the Eagles thoats with Barber and Jacobs.
Matt (oaks, PA): What the heck happened to the Cowboys? They are better than they played yesterday, right?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:18 PM ET ) They are a better team than they showed last night. Their defense could do nothing to stop the Saints offense and was on the field too long. they abandoned the run too early.
Pat (San Fran): I see you saw the Skins/Eagles game. What are your thoughts on Campbell? He is making rookie mistakes but looks really good at times and always poised.
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:20 PM ET ) I like Campbell, he just needs more time. He does not seem to have the offense totally down yet and seems to be feeling his way at times. The Commanders can help him by running the ball and giving him some safe throws to build his confidence. Just give him time.
Sal, PA: As a follow up to the Sean Considine question, how do you think he has played? Will they replace him this offseason?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:21 PM ET ) Sal he has played well, he needs to work on his tackling and angles to the ball. He is a smart player with good instincts and you need a player like that on your defense at one or both of the safety positions. They will keep him.
Harold, Long Beach, Cali: Was it me, or did that onside kick when it was 35-17 a little rediculous? I mean your already up big in the third quarter, then you do that and the call a long bomb to hit Henderson for a 50 yard TD pass to make it 42-17. Don't you think that was a little bit of pouring it on, when it was not needed?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:23 PM ET ) No I aggree with you I thought Sean was trying to stick it to Parcells.
Jeff (Waldorf, MD): Why don't the Giants use Jacobs and Barber like the Saints use Deuce and Reggie. I would really like to see Jacobs in the game more often with Tiki in a slot WR position.
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:26 PM ET ) Bush is a more elusive route runner than Tiki is and has more natural quickness. It would be good to see how teams would handle those two in the game. I do not think Coughlin is that forward thinking.
Chet (West Chester, Pa): Chuck, you mentioned that the eagles need a nun stuffering tackle to take out 2 blockers. Isnt that why they took Broderick Bunkley in the 1st round? Why is he not on the field at all?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:28 PM ET ) Chet they are unhappy with his level of play. He has not been playing up to expectations.
Luis (Santa Maria, CA): Everyone's talking about how Payton had the inside info on the Cowboys. True. But what about Parcell's inside info on Payton's play-calling style. Was parcell's just outcoached?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:29 PM ET ) Luis Payton ran Parcells offense when he was at Dallas not his own.
Damien (DC): Any change Jacobs can be a really every down back w/Tiki gone next year - or do the Giants have some shopping to do?
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:30 PM ET ) Damien he could be but the Giants will do some shopping next year.
Chuck Knox, Jr.: (12:30 PM ET ) Well thats it for me.
