Keith Kidd: Hey it is great to be here talking some ball with SportsNation! Lets get rolling with your NFL questions!
Will (Orlando): Tougher schedule the Pats or the Colts?
Keith Kidd: I am going with the Colts because the AFC South is a lot stronger than the AFC East right now.
Ron (Hoboken NJ): Keith - What's the difference in Ronnie Brown in the last 2 games compared to the first 2 games?
Keith Kidd: He has obviously been more involved in the offense in the way Cameron is using him. In the first two weeks of the season maybe they felt they would not be effective running the ball against Dallas and Washington.
Matt (Chicago): Too much has already been written about the Chargers and their bad start this year, but...how can their coaching staff, particularly Ted Cottrell, watch film and not realize what's going on? Don't coaches (new ones especially) review last year's film? Wouldn't he be able to see the success they had with an aggressive defense, yet this year continually try something different that doesn't work. Any insight on this?
Keith Kidd: Hey Matt whenever there is a tunrover with a new head coach and coordinator there is a lot of learning that takes places with the coaching staff understanding the strengths and weaknesses of players. With that said, it is no exciuse for the Chargers' poor start. But there is still a lot of hope based on the other teams in the division. A win solves a lot of problems; this team needs to win on Sunday in Denver.
Keith (Boston, MA): I think that it is clear that so far this season, the best offseason trade has been the Randy Moss for a 4th rounder. However, what has been the best off season free agent signing. I have a Patriots bias, so I would vote Adalius Thomas with the way he has fit into that defense, but I am sure there has been another signing that has had an even bigger impact somewhere else in the league.
Keith Kidd: You cannot argue with anything the Pats did this offseason because of all the success they have had so far. But it is a long season and the only thing that could hold them back is a lot of injuries to key players (Tom Brady). Otherwise they are on cruise control.
Tim (Brooklyn): The Bills are moving Whitner to FS and starting Greer, the AFC defensive player of the week, this week because of more injuries, but Ellison and Hargrove may be ready to go by Monday night. Does this give a much needed boost to a decemated defense?
Keith Kidd: This defense has been decimated by injuries and getting Ellison and Hargrove back will help them. Their return along with the electrictiy of a Monday Night game is needed in order for them to beat Dallas.
Josh (Detroit): I think Jamaal Lewis in Cleveland has probably been the best free agent signing.
Ed (Fond du Lac, WI): KIDDER - what's your take on the Packers thus far? Looking at the schedule before this season, I thought we'd be lucky to go 2-3 after the five game mark. I know we're facing a desperate Chicago team, but would you agree it's possible to go 11-5 / 12-4 and get a home playoff game?
Keith Kidd: I think they have been the story of the NFL. I have been very impressed with them on defense, and as far as their kicking game. And Brett Favre is playing like he did 10 years ago. He is playing very well within the structure and design of the offense, and his accuracy has been great. And he is having a lot of fun. But this team is going to have to run the football and that maybe their achilles heal late in the season.
Greg - Indy: Kidder...What's Crackin? What would be worse for the Colts: To not have Marvin in the lineup or Addai? I am thinking that we need Addai more. Of course not having both would suck. Thanks Man!
Keith Kidd: You know what, we are going to find out about the Colts' depth on Sunday against Tampa. Either one to me is a major blow, but just be thankful Peyton will be under center. Because just like Brady in New England, neither one of these teams can afford to lose their quarterbacks.
Adam (Louisville, KY): Hey Kidder, do you see Eli in the Giants continuing to play they have the past two weeks? (btw I mean getting the W, not 12 sacks...)
Keith Kidd: Hey Adam, I will be in Louisvile for ther Utah Louisville game on Friday night! Defensively the Giants have been very impressive the last two weeks but I still think Manining is going to have to be a lot more consistent if the Giants are going to have a chance to make a run at the NFC East. I think the return of Jacobs will help things, although Ward has been pretty good.
Mike (Wilmington): Was Kris Jenkins joking when he called out his teammates? Stop displacing the blame, Kris, you don't even look like you're trying out there.
Keith Kidd: Based on the commets I read, I did not think he was joking. With that said, I do not think you call out other teammates or players in the media if you are a coach or player. Things like that need to be kept in the locker room, behind closed doors.
Andrew (Toledo): Looking at the schedule and the way the Browns offense is playing, do they have a legit shot at 8-8
(much to the chagrin of Cowboys fans)?
Keith Kidd: I think they do. How can you not be impressed with the job Romeo Crennel has done? In reality this team should be 3-3 by their bye. They should beat Miami and lose to New England which puts them in a pretty good positin to get them to their 8th or 9th win. Which is possible with their schdeule. I think the key in Cleveland is patience. You need to let them build what they are building and this team should continue to get better.
Matt (Liberty Center, OH): What going on Keith? The Cowboys are 4-0 and Tony Romo is getting the ball to T.O. Do you think it's possible for T.O. to keep his mouth shut and be happy for the entire season?
Keith Kidd: Under Wade Phillips the Cowboys are having a lot of fun. This is avery talented team that Bill Parcells put in place. If they can get by Buffalo on Monday Night we are going to see two unbeaten teams next weekend, when the Pats play the Cowboys, which should be a great, great game.
Doug (Rundle, TX): Albert Haynesworth, Nnamdi Asomugha, Asante Samuel, and Lance Briggs will both be free agents after this season. Is that the start of the best free-agent crop of the last decade?
Keith Kidd: Absolutely, that is a very impressive group, which will be very well paid in 08.
G-Man (New York): Keith - I feel like the Jets almost forget that they have Thomas Jones in their backfield..15 touches a game just won't get it done.
Mike (Az): Kidder, I know this is the wrong chat, but... GO DIAMONDBACKS!!! Every idiot (baseball) talking head said those lame cubs would roll past, but just like the regular season, WE KEEP WINNING! GO BACKS F*** the cubs!!!
Jay (NC): Keith, I told you browns would upset the ravens, except now I'm not sure it was an upset. The browns are good, and I'm getting sick of the bias against us not coming to an end. When will you guys start talking about how the browns win and not the other team losing? I bet the browns either win, or make it extremely close. Take the browns against the spread all day this week, NE will not run over us, we are better than cincinatti.
Keith Kidd: Obviously you have not been a part of my chats, because I do not talk about the Browns losing. But I do not like how Phil Savage continues to blame past coaches and GM's for the Browns failures, because they need to focus on today and the future moving forward to the FUTURE. Past Excuses are no good anymore.
Rob (Reno): Keith, any chance the 49ers move Trent Dilfer to O-Coordinator, so he can call the plays instead of running them?
Keith Kidd: I do not see that happening but I would expect Dilfer to be able to have a lot more flexibility in the play selection along with changing plays up at the line of scrimmage, which I do not think Smith had. But this offense looks really bad to me right now.
Ben (Los Gatos, CA): Might the Raiders contend or even win the AFC West?
Keith Kidd: Ben, the AFC West is wide open right now.
Jarred (Reno, NV): Does Leinhart get much play time this week? I'm a big Cardinals fan and have hi m on my Fantasy team too.
Keith Kidd: Yes, I would expect, based on what I have seen, that the two QB rotation will continue to be used, because of the type of packages they want to run and the different types of situations that come up during a game.
Jason (Portland OR): Keith, with Hasselbeck off to his best start ever, should the Hawks focus more on the pass kinda like the Pack?
Keith Kidd: Great point Jason, I think that one of the critical matchups this weekend will be Hasselbeck versus Dick Labeau and his pressure schemes. I agree I think they will rely heavily on the pass in order to set up the run. But they are much more balanced on offense than the Packers are as far as their run-pass ratio.
marcus (atlanta): it's looks like Joey Harrington is comfortable with Petrino's offense unlike the west coast offense, what's your thoughts.
Keith Kidd: It is different tyope of offense than a west coast, but the one thing about Petrino's offense is the fact that QB complete a high percentgae of their throws, and he has looked really good the last two weeks.
CAM CAMERON (Davie, FL): Is my job safe?
Keith Kidd: The saving grace you have is you are in the first year of your program. But you have to turn the season around, because this has been the most disappointing team outside of the Rams. I guess Nick Saban left this team in a lot worst shape than I thought he did.
Henry (NY): Keith, can you stop taking all these "no respect" questions from fans? I really like the underdog teams getting better story that has emerged this year, but all these inferiority complexes are really annoying.
Keith Kidd: Hey Henry if we could get those types of questions I would answer them. So relax and get ready for a great weekend.
Q (Indy): The Pats are looking great, do you see Stallworth breaking out this weekend
Keith Kidd: He is going to break out at some point, and it very well could be against the Browns, based on the cast around him. There are so many players you have to stop on the Pats, that he could have a breakout game.
Fat Guy in a Little Coat(Seattle, WA): Henry from New York gets no respect.
Randy (Wyoming): Hey Keith love your insight. I just took part in a three team trade. I traded Sjack for McGahee and then traded McGahee and Witten for Addai. Did I make a good choice and how concerned should I be with Addai's Injury?
Keith Kidd: Great choice, I really like Addai. However, you will need to monitor the injury up until kickoff, because I picked up Droughns last week thinking that Ward was injured and would not play. But if he is going to play you have to start him.
Raymond (Baltimore): Kidder, the ravens, is it play calling or a bigger issue? HELP!
Keith Kidd: Defensively, being without Price and Rolle is very difficult for anyone to overcome and they are missing Thomas. On offense I have had some questions as far as the play calling; I would have run more against Cleveland and Cincinnati. I understand that they were behind in the game and were trying to get points, but I would have liked to see them stick with the run a little more.
Jimmy (Columbia, MD): Keith, Nick Saban and Steve Spurrier both seemed to leave things MUCH worse in their respective cities than they were when they arrived. Do you think we'll see fewer college coaches being pulled up to coach in the NFL?
Keith Kidd: I do. Because the pro game is so much different than the college game, and do not forget about Butch Davis; struggles in Cleveland. But in fairness to Spurrier, I do not think he had the final say in personel like Davis and Saban did.
Joe (Plainsboro, NJ): Hey Keith. Before the season I saw that many (including myself) thought the AFC North was the most competitive/toughest at the top division. Has that changed? Do you think Cincy and Balt are overrated?
Keith Kidd: I agree, I thought the AFC North was the strongest. To me the AFC East has been the most disappointoing along with the West, but you have to give it to the AFC South as being the strongest division wise.
Dan(Louisville): Will Michael Bush play for the RAiders this year?
Keith Kidd: From what I am told he will not. And I think he is on the injured reserve or the injured PUP. I think you will see him in 08.
Joe (AZ via Chicago): KIDDER - as you read this I'm packing up my desk! Which do you think is the Bears biggest need next offseason - a new QB or some youth on the OL? Thanks!
Keith Kidd: Without a doubt a QB.
CW Sloan, Greenville, NC: Hey Keith, what's your 40 right now? Arent you at a 4.4 flat?
Keith Kidd: You are very kind CW.
Shawn TN : Keith, What QB finishes the best this year? Manning, Brady or Romo??
Keith Kidd: Manning, Brady, Romo. Just like you had them. It will come down to which one of these three can bring home the world championship.
Jim -- Scranton: Why is Sean Considine ranked so low by scoutsinc? I'd take him over at least 20 of the guys you have ahead of him.
Keith Kidd: I agree I think he is a good young player, who can develop into a good front-line starter in this league.
Ron (Hoboken NJ): Keith - When do you predict John Beck gets some playing time?
Keith Kidd: I think he gets it right after the halfway point of the season. it is obvious to me that their chances of winning the East is over, and I do not see anything that leads me to believe that Trent Green is the future.
Jerry (Texas): Which quarterback will you think best fit Chicago's Offense, Leftwich, D. Anderson, Losman, Harrington, or someone else?
Keith Kidd: Matt Ryan, BC.
Matt (Farmington,CT): What do you think of Patrick Willis? Defensive Rookie of the Year?
Keith Kidd: Based on what I have seen, he is well on his way to being Rookie of the Year.
Landon(Colorado): Hey Keith, Love the chats!! How impressed are you with Adrian Peterson so far? I know its early in his career but there is no way this guy is not a top 5 back right now. He is the ONLY Vikings weapon and still can't be stopped.
Keith Kidd: Very impressed. He anoither guy who could easily be a rookie of the year. But why did he not get more carries last week than 12, and he still rushed for over 100+. Sounds like some questionable play calling. Memo to Brad Childress, give the ball to Peterson next week against the Bears.
Jason (Northfield): Kidder, What do you see out of Trent Edwards this week, and long term? Is he the answer for the Bills?
Keith Kidd: It is going to be difficult to have the same success against a much better defense in Dallas. Hopefully they will put him in some good positions like they did against the Jets. But he gives Bills fans some hope for the future, because I think the book on JP Losman maybe shut, based on what I have seen this year.
Desperate Times (Elmira, NY): Is Carr the starter this week? Do you think he might have a decent game?
Keith Kidd: I think there is more than a 50% chance he starts, and how could he not have a good game, based on how the Saints D has layed.
nick (burg): who you got his weekend - lions or skins?
Keith Kidd: Skins.
Dan (San Francisco): I hate the Seahawks, but I have to say they have the best linebacking core hands down. Do you agree, Kidder?
Keith Kidd: Easily, top three. I watched a lot of tape on them thids week and they are very, very good. I think this defense will only get better if they stay healthy. It is a great test for this team in Pittsbugh on Sunday.
Carlos: Will the 2008 QB draft class be the best in a decade?
Keith Kidd: Possibly. You have to think Woodson, Ryan, and Brohm, make it a very top-heavy class right now. Now a lot of that will change when we get into the offseason when everyone start tearing apart their games.
Xander (Philly): I hate Tom Brady...he's good...but i hate him. and i dont hate him because he's good (I like Peyton and Favre), i hate him cause he's cocky as hell. I hope him and Bellichick get arrested for tax evasion.
Sean (Hartford, CT): Hey Keith! What can we expect from Bush and Brees? Is it time to panic? THANKS!!
Keith Kidd: If they do not get it done this weekend against Carolina, against a team going in all sorts of directions, it will be time to panic.
Eric (Henderson, NV): Hey Keith, Why won't ESPN go back to the old format and put all the chats on the front page? I know they have gotten a lot of complaints.
Keith Kidd: Great questions for the Buzzmaster.
Mike (New York): Someone please give Xander a hug. Don't be angry that McNabb stinks.
Scott (Mililani, Hi): Keith,KC, Do you think that Harris/Woodson of the packers are the best man to man(no zones here) cornerback duo in the league?
Keith Kidd: One of the best. I like the Broncos with Bailey and Bly, I like the Seahawks with Troufant and Jennings and KC with Surtain and Law. I also like Samuel and Hobbes in new England. Those are the ones that come to mind.
freddie's dead (washington, dc): Keith, How in the world do you watch all these games and know about so many players? starting to think you are a part of quintuplets.
Keith Kidd: I have been involved with football my whole life. 24/7 baby! Imaigine going to work everyday and all you have to do is football. It is a pretty good life!
Phillip RIvers: But Keith, Hobbs is the sorriest corner in the league! LOL
Jon Gruden: 3-1, start talking.
Majeed: KK, After Miami loses again and goes to 0-5, will we see Cleo Lemon for a few games than Beck after the bye?
Keith Kidd: Good to have you here Majeed. Hate to see what is happening to Miami. But I would go with the rookie and build for the future, and Lemon is not the future in my opinion.
Paul (Topeka, KS): Do you like Huard as the long term guy in K.C. ?
Keith Kidd: Huard is best suited as a back up. I think Croyle is the future. I have my cocnerns about him too. But in KC their defense is the story. Their defense has been awesome this year.
Shon (Vegas): As a Dallas fan, I miss Charlie Frye.
Glenn (NJ): Kidder, whose the better player to start this week, earnest graham or pittman?
Keith Kidd: Ouch. I would put them both in a hat and pull a name out. But if I had to go with someone I would go with Pittman, because he can rush the ball and receive the ball out of the backfield.
Joe (Tampa): Can't count out Brooks, Ruud and June for best LB core, and Trotter still wainting to get in. Also for DB's Barber and Kelly.
Keith Kidd: Joe I tend to disagree. He has been injured a lot and based on what I have seen he has not played that well.
Glen (Reno, NV): Is Frerotte still a capable QB or is he old and rotten?
Keith Kidd: He has got to be capable based on how bad Bulger has played.
Tommy(TheStatPack): Is there any truth to the whispers of Larry Fitzgerald to the Cowboys?
Keith Kidd: No.
Keith Kidd: But Terry Glenn is close to getting back, which could make this offense even more potent.
Mike (Boston): How can Xander hate Brady for being cocky? I think to be a good player in the NFL you have to be cocky. Do you hate Ocho Cinco? And is there anyone more cocky than Manning?
Keith Kidd: Thanks for being part of my show. Good luck to your teams and I will see you back here on Thusrday! And go Kentucky beat South Carolina! Check it out on ESPN tonight. My Cats will roll!
