Buzzmaster: Ken is here! Keep your questions coming!

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Welcome! Let's get started!

Nugget Des Moines, IA: I think the commishioner should just ban everybody in the NFL that gets in real bad trouble. Vick should never get to play again if he is guilty. Enough is enough. Athletes think they are on another level than the just the average Joe.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: How would the average joe be treated? Jail time? Fines? Would that average joe be rehired in the same field of work he left? If Vick does his punishment, and I think he will get hammered, wouldn't he deserve to be able to get back in pro football?

Matt (KC): can the chiefs be a good team this year

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: The Chiefs have a good chance to be 10-6 if they can get Johnson in camp and stay healthy.

Brandino ( Wake Forest, North Carolina): First of all I'd like to ask if you think the panthers are going to make the playoffs, they have a pretty strong team, 2nd of all, my friends are saying that David Carr will likely start, but I think it's Delhomme, I think there are plenty of reasons why Delhomme has a better edge than Carr.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I'll answer the latter first. Carr will compete but that team has won a lot of games with Delhomme and he will be the starter. With everything else happening in the division, they have a great chance to win the division. Smith has to be healthy or they will be a very average team.

Tim,FL: What are your thoughts on Maroney as the Patriots featured back?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Laurence Maroney has great potential to be an excellent starting back in teh league if he can stay healthy. Even to this day, I don't know if he has been on the field. I think there are still health issues lingering.

Majeed: Chiefs 10-6??? Pardon me but you must be smokin some good stuff. More like 6-10 at best. Huard or Croyle and a unhappy LJ with sorry WR's and a weak OL does not equal 10-6!

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: We'll see!

Jamal (Bronx): How much, if at all, do you think the bengals will improve this year?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think they underachieved last year. They should have a chance with a new coach in Pittsburgh and Cleveland having a tough time, they should be a better team if they can keep distractrions out of camp. I think they can do that with the personnel they have.

Tom (Chicago): I actually think Darwin Walker is an *updgrade* over Tank Johnson. What do you think?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I don't think so. Tank was an excellent player. I don't think Walker is as explosive. Lovie is a defensive minded person and Walker is a good pickup, but he isn't the same player as Tank and not as explosive.

Doug (Kansas City): How could can Adrian Peterson be running the football for the Vikings? Will he be the kind of workhorse, multi-dimentioned RB as Tomlinson?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think he is a different type of back. I don't think he is as elusive as LT but he can be special and be a workhorse. His running style is just a little different. If they can get the QB position squared away and get good play from the QB, it will help him tremendously to be a great player.

Xander (Philly): Speaking of Tank, any idea where he will end up yet? I like the rumor of him ending up in Buffalo.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I wouldn't even venture a guess! Oakland?

Nick (Houston): Do you think the Texans can turn it around with the new QB, RB and improved D and WR's, or will it be the same ol' texans?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think they are going to be better. But they are still a ways away. The second year should always be better for a rookie coach but I don't see them taking a big jump. They MIGHT be a 8-8 team this year.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Also, I don't think the QB situation has improved much. It was time for Carr to leave, but Schaub is a similar athlete. He might be a little sharper getting rid of the ball but that's about it.

Dustin (D.C.): Are you drinking the Ravens Kool-Aid? I just think the Bengals and the Steelers are better teams than the Ravens!

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think the Ravens are going to be very tough. On defense they were No. 1 I believe in total defense. They have been one of the top defenses for 5 years now and I don't see that changing. I think the Ravens are the class of the AFC North.

Terence New York: Do you think LT will improve this year? I think he will score even MORE touchdowns...

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Likely not! It's hard to improve given what he did. I don't expect quite the same numbers from LT but he will still be an amazing player.

Brad (Berea, OH): What are the Browns chances of making even the least amount of noise in the AFC North? Will 6-10 be enough for Crennel to keep his job?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think 6-10 is a legitimate record for them. I don't see them being any more than 8-8 but I do think 8-8 is what Crennel needs to keep his job. 6-10 isn't going to be good enough.

Chris (Macedonia, OH): The starting QB for the opening day game in Cleveland is ____________?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Charlie Frye.

Johnny(Queens): Do you think this will be the season that the Bills J.P Losman will prove he can play the QB position at a high level? The talent is definitly there?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I believe he has a pretty good chance to show that. He has great talent and took a big jump last year. He played 16 games and improved a lot. With a good run game, he will force the ball less. You should see continued improvement from Losman this season.

egami (iowa): Ken, which first time head coach do you like best so far with what they've done?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: The shocker to me, and I know him, is Sean Payton. To go to the NFC championship in his first year as a head coach was incredible. To turn that team around was just amazing. Whether he can do it again remains to be seen.

Chris (New York): What are you thoughts on Jason Campbell? Gibbs and Saunders seem downright giddy when talking about him.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Jason Campbell has got a ton of talent. He's a big, strong kid and a winner. He has football intelligence. He should improve quite a bit this year in his first full year as a starting QB. He can be very very good.

Derek (Cazenovia NY): Hey Ken, What New York team has a better chance at making the postseason, The Jets or The Giants?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I'm going to say the Jets. I do think people will be ready for them, but I also think the Giants are about to explode. Losing Tiki and possibly Strahan will be hard to rebound from. If they get off to a 4-1 start, that's great. But if they start 1-3 or something like that, it could all explode. People could start jumping ship.

Dan (CT): Are Carolina and Dallas both looking at RB timeshares? Thanks.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think DeAngelo Williams will eventually emerge as the workhorse. In Dallas, I think they will be by committee. But Williams could be the featured back in Carolina.

Majeed: Moll- You mean implode when it comes to the Giants. Explode is actually a good thing when it comes to sports!

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Yes, that's what I meant!

Drew (Yuba City): How can a guy like Chester Taylor not be getting 25 touches a game? I see him as a top 15 RB.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: He could be a Top 15 back if he got 25 touches. But it will be tough to get that with Peterson in the backfield with him. They have to give Peterson a good amount of touches as well.

Donovan (Phila, PA): So what are your thoughts on Donovan Mcnabb this year?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I would expect McNabb to come back in as good a shape as he has ever been in and as strong as he has ever been. Garcia playing well probably makes McNabb feel like he has something to prove. He will want to come back strong.

Mike (Annapolis): and the winner of the NFC East will be ________. And don't say Dallas with that overrated QB.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Dallas! I think they are going to be better on defense and their new coach is going to handle the personalities better than Parcells did. Romo will be better. There will be a much better marraige between the players and coaching staff.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I also think T.O. will have a big year.

Mike (D.C.): KEN - Is this the year the league finally realize Roethlisberger is, at best, an average livable QB at this level and NOT a star. He's not Bradshaw, he's Dilfer.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I would say he is somewhere inbetween the two guys you mention. He's certainly not Bradshaw or Dilfer. He's a good football player and a good quarterback. He won't have the same distractions coming into this year as he did last year after the motorcycle accident.

Gooch (Coudersport, PA): What has Wade Phillips ever done as a head coach? T.O. will be walking all over him.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: He's a good football coach, he just has never won the big game. I think T.O. will be better with Phillips' demeanor as opposed to Parcells. I don't see T.O. walking all over him. But you get more out of T.O. with a mutual approach as opposed to a strong-fist approach.

Ian (Los Angeles, CA): Who is the QB most likely to suffer a steep drop-off From last Season--Romo or Grossman? And considering Romo did just shy of 3,000 yards in 12 games and his first season starting, can he hit 4,000 and 25-30 TDs or am I crazy?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think Grossman. They both have similar tools with Romo being about an inch taller, but Grossman is more fragile than Romo in terms of his mental makeup. I think Grossman will also have a shorter leash.

Marc, Atlanta: It seems that once or twice a decade we see an new and unique offensive or defensive philosophy developed in the NFL. Are there any out there that we should start paying attention to in their early stages?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Let's look at New Orleans and their offense. The personnel there .. Reggie Bush, who can be moved around so much .. gives you a chance for a semi-innovative approach. But they are still figuring it out. They can really play around with their personnel groupings.

Brian (FL): Do you think Cam Cameron will make any difference in Miami?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: He will make a difference in that he is the antithesis of Nick Saban. He is very low key and steady. He's all business but not a yeller. He will make a difference but personnel-wise it's going to depend on the QB and Ted Ginn. They will be good on defense but those two will determine the wins and losses.

Philip (Spokane): Don't forget about us in the Northwest. Can Matt have a decent year with those sub-par receivers?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I do think he can have a good year. But they don't have any explosive players at the receiver position. Holmgren does a great job getting his off. people in position to move down the field. Hasselbeck will have a good year.

Joe (AZ via Chicago): Why does everyone assume Grossman will have a short leash next season? He was AWFUL in a lot of games last year and was NEVER pulled, and the team believes in him and THEY WIN WITH HIM. Plus, Griese is average at best. There's a reason he has been replaced by the juggernauts of Jake Plummer and Chris Simms in his career. Has any QB EVER taken as much heat as Grossman while winning 15 games in a season??

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I wrote about this exact topic recently. Nobody has ever taken as much heat as him. But the defense and run game carried Chicago to that impressive record. I think they are wondering if he can take them all the way? If he has 2-3 bad games, I think they will pull him. He has a very short leash.

Craig (PA): How long will J. Russell hold out of the Raiders camp? Will it affect the team chemistry?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I think it could be a long holdout. That really hurts a rookie QB more than any other position in the league and does affect team chemistry. You also have a first year head coach so this affects all kinds of things. It's very destructive to the team chemistry.

Nick (St. Joseph, MO): Is Priest even going to make the Chiefs roster?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I don't think he will make the roster. He hasn't played in 2 years. I don't think he will be cleared medically. If he is, he will have a lot of rust to knock off. I don't see him being a factor even if he does make the roster.

Ken (Chico, Ca): If the ram run defense improves, what are their chances of making the playoffs or even winning their division?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Their chances are very good under second year coach Scott Linehan. He will have the offense scoring enough points to win. The run defense, as you mention, is the key to a 10-6 record.

James (Dallas, TX): What are youyr expectations for the Cardinals this year? Year 2 for Matt, improvrmnts on the Offensive line should help James. Can they contend for the playoffs?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I'm one of those guys that thinks they have the personnel. Wisenhunt should give them a chance to push for the playoffs. Leinart will be better, they made some good draft picks so they should be able to compete for a wildcard spot in the playoffs.

Mikey(Bethlaham Park, NY): Which QB do you think will have the better sophmore season? Matt Leinart, Vince Young, or Jay Cutler?

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I would say Leinart. He has the best receivers and he is further along in a mental capacity than Young. Vince probably has the talent, but he doesn't have the weapons around him that Leinart has. Cutler is going to be very very good but he is still very much a work in progress. They will run the ball first in Denver.

dan, maine: Couldn't you just as easily say that Priest Holmes will be fresh after having 2 years of rather than "rusty".

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: You could argue that, but I wouldn't. When you are away from the game after 2 years, at any position, it is very tough to come back. He was already in the latter part of his career. I wouldn't say he will be fresh. He may make the roster and play but I don't see him being a factor.

Damon - ATL: DO YOU expect another 12-4 season from the Colts? They are one the most consistent teams in the league.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: I expect an impressive record from the Colts. I always say there is such a think as the Super Bowl hangover. They will have some of that this year. They will still make the playoffs but I dont think they will have as good a record as last year.

sn2.gif
Ken Moll: Thanks for the questions! Have a great week!

I'm really shocked that so many media people are saying we'll be better this year, and especially better on defense.

I know a lot of us believe it, but I thought more media would be saying we were due for a fall with Parcells leaving.

On a different note, I think if the average Joe gets convicted of a serious crime, he's going to find it pretty tough to get employed again in the same field. So as far as indicating that Vick might re-enter the NFL if he's convicted, there's precedence in professional sport, but not necessarily a valid argument when comparing us great unwashed to the likes of Senor Mexico.

You have got to be kidding me. Bradie Croyle isn't close to Romo and you don't see many in the media predicting 10-6 for our 'Boys.

Oh and FWIW, LJ and the Chefs are light years apart.

I do have to agree on the Wade/TO thing. I can see how TO would end up getting along better with Phillips.

I love it when people say what as Wade Phillips done? What did Bill Cowher do for all those season before he finally got the SB? and the same could be said about many other coaches. Phillips has taken some down and out teams and helped turned them around. I think the lack of patients by some owners is the only problem Wade has really had. I also think in this situation Phillips is coming to a team that has been upgraded and ready to take the next step.

Exactly. The haters up in the Northeast are scared to death of Romo and this team. They have seen two dynasties, and the thought of another one gives them a major case of paranoia.

BOO!
