I think spreading out the Cowboys would be a big mistake for the Eagles. They haven't been great in protecting McNabb, and the Cowboys are having a lot of success of late with coverage in the short passing game.

They'd be far better off trying to increase protection and work Jackson and Maclin downfield, which is what I expect they'll do.

I also think we'll have to be careful getting too eager to get to McNabb. The Falcons and Seahawks, despite having limited success in the running game, had some big runs on delays and draws directed at Spencer and Ware, who were too far upfield when the backs hit the hole. It's one thing when Snelling and Julius Jones are running the ball, quite another when it's Westbrook.

Inside the NFL didn't. Funny thing is they brought up that we've only beat KC, Seattle, and Atlanta in this three game streak. I guess since we beat Atlanta, they officially suck now. :laugh2:

Although, I did think Atlanta was a bit overrated initially anyway. Not that their a bad team, but I don't think they are a very good team either. They just don't beat themselves. (penalties, turnovers, poor play, etc)

Well, when they talk about the Giants 5 game win streak at the beginning of the season, they now say they didnt beat anybody either even though the Cowboys were one of those teams.

It looks like ATL and Dallas have something both to prove.

I almost hope we look bad beating the Eagles so that we can stay under the radar. Either that or McNabb throws 3 pics and we win uncharacteristically. That way they can discount the Eagles loss like the did when they played the Saints.

Here are the stats for returns by all teams. Dallas and Philly are in the bottom half. You can look at all phases of STs at stats at yahoo sports.

Jackson is only their punt returner. If you sort according to punt return average, Dallas is #2 and Philly is #3 in the league.

So, statistically we have a better kickoff unit, better punting unit, better kick return unit, and better punt return unit. I would argue the field goal units are equal. Yet, they apparently have the better S/T unit. Not likely.

Is anyone opposed to putting a safety over the top of DeSean? I like the Jenkins matchup w/ him, but I think we could use some help there.

...yes put the heat on McNabb with Ware, Ratliff and Spencer...heck, send the Carpet inside on a delayed blitz!

...McNabb rates nearly 100 in passer rating when he has time and can comfortably throw the ball...when he is pressured or blitzed his passer rating drops below 50...

Time to unleash Butler? Maybe? I have been told he is a much better player than Spencer by many folks on this board.

Miles Austin is debatable to Desean Jackson? This board man, i tell ya.:lmao2:

I guess maybe you missed Austin both running through, with power, and running away, with speed, from everyone on the field the past few games? And running past everyone's secondary in his limited opportunities before this season, primarily the GB game? Or some of his KO returns?

Do you really think Jackson is much faster than Austin? He definitely isn't stronger.

I guess if you consider differences of .10ths and .100ths of a second in 40 times as making someone more explosive enough that the point should even be made, then you would be correct.

toss up is right overall.

jenkins versus desean is unlikely.

most likely we double team jackson with tnew plus safety help.
jenkins mans up maclin.

if we really do win both lines then this game ends up a dallas win for sure.

as nate newton noted recently philly will turn on their guys in a flash if dallas jumps on them early. said they'd ride dallas before and at start of game for sure so you want to do well early and have them screaming for vick by 2nd quarter.

austin is tied atop the list of wr's for receiving TDs. he's done this only while recently earning the starting job.

jackson is scary quick and fast but he wont catch passes that require contact and do much. he hates contact.

Newman/safety/scandrick double Jackson.
Jenkins jams maclin.
Sensebaugh/carpenter/scandrick on celek

Buehlers kick offs counter the kickoff return game.
Mcbriar/watkins punting out of bounds when needed slows punt return game.

Westbrook is the up to the rest of the team.

If our guys play to the top of there game we are about the only team in league that has the cover guys to play with the likes of Philly, New Orleans, Indy and any other high powered passing attack.

if all else fails run the damn ball down their throats and keep Jackson/westbrook/maclin and company on the sidelines.
