RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks players have seen the clips of Greg Hardy on the Cowboys sideline, and they know the defensive end has been the subject of much discussion around the NFL this week.

But when asked about the outburst, they defended Hardy's actions.

"I think if his teammates saw it as a distraction or something that was out of what they deem to be a team player and deem legitimate, then I think they’d say something," said cornerback Richard Sherman. "Until his teammates say anything, I think it’s fine. His teammates rallied behind him. They understand where he’s coming from. It was a tough point in the ballgame, there was frustration. When you’re in a ballgame, there’s passion. If you have a guy sitting there with his helmet down and just walking out there with no passion, you’d be complaining, too.

Sherman - Very smart. Don't tempt the Kraken or he'll knock your QB into next week.

They will go after him if the Cowboys hesitate giving long term deal.

It's obvious Hardy is and has been an emotionally volatile character who's going to have his tantrums now and then. It shouldn't be shocking to the media or anyone else when his temper gets the best of him.

Obviously, the opportunity for the media to dramatize every episode is simply way too much for them to take in stride. Perhaps at some point the light will come on and Greg will realize that he's only hurting himself by over-reacting. Until then, this wasn't his first stumble and it may not be the last.

It's a shame it's going to be dramatized to the extent it is but then, that's life with the Cowboys. The media will pounce on every chance they get to rinse and repeat what they do best. Hardy needs to come to terms with that fact real soon, before more harm follows.

The other thing I like about Sherman, and maybe it's stupid but he respects guys like Dez and isn't afraid to say it either. I get the impression from Sherman that he does respect the game itself and the history of it.

I thought he was awesome when he did the interviewing of people in NO during superbowl week. That is when I was like I like that guy. Than he said what he said about Dez and I was like yea this dude is cool in my book. I've never heard him talk bad about the Cowboys either and you will get respect from for that.

What are you talking about? The article was written on ESPN.com. Did you even click the link?

Yeah, I didn't express myself well. It's on the Seahawks page on ESPN.com, not on the front page. Marshall's comments were featured on the front page all day yesterday and are still on the NFL front page on ESPN along with another negative article about Jerry Jones.

So many people with so many empotions said so many wrong things. One could think all those posters here earn their money by posting click-bait articles.

Thanks at least someone puts this thing in perspective. I liked Sherman from the first day i saw him (as a person and a player).

I like Sherm he's a real dude. Always speaks his mind and says a lot of things us fans think. I appreciate guys like Sherm myself. Local SoCal guy.

Richard is an intellectual. That's the #1 quality in a man in my world.

I like him too because he doesn't fall in line with what everyone else says. Everyone has the same tune about Hardy and just piling on at this point. Sherman isn't a company man when it comes to issues like this.

If you like a guy like Sherman or Dez..

then you like Hardy.

I've seen Dez have identical tandems (minus the clip board thing) several times..

And nobody goes at Dez for not being a team guy.

I get so I totally dislike the media because they constantly spin things out of proportion.

I miss the days of Blackie Sherrod and Verne Lundquist.

Good reporters.
