I like the 8 divisions - win and you are in - you must defeat your own first....so, I agree to NOT re-seed things - if you win a division, you get a home game in the playoffs, period - been working this way for a while

It’s a weak division. But the winner of the division gets the same respect no matter the record. The winner will likely be bounced out the first game but you never know.

Why would there be steam for this to happen anyways?

Is there going to be some 12-4 or 13-3 team shut out because the East winner gets in? No.

Sad thing is all four of these teams should be teams top coachs should want to kill to join.

Going to Meyer's, "Thats the one", comment. To a lesser extent that should apply to all teams in the NFCE.

I don’t get the complaining.

If I’m a fan of SF/Seattle or Green Bay/Minnesota I’m stoked.

Easy wild card weekend win and get a free pass to the second round.

This! Just show up. Whomever win the east will not put a fight.

It would be lame to change it this year but I would be all for it next year and in the future. Teams shouldn’t be rewarded for being losers and playing like crap.

Why is everyone acting like this is the first time this has happened ...
I think the abject futility of how this is playing out with just under a month to go is what is irking people.

It is not like the NFC South in 2014, it is more like the NFC West in 2010. Bad football with each team feasting on bad divisional opponents to jack up their win total. It is also odd how the schedule ended up stacked with Dallas playing weak teams early and the Eagles playing weak teams late. It allowed for a long sustained dose of mediocrity all season long.

In 2014, the Panthers won four straight to at least "earn" it after the Saints tanked.

Both Dallas and the Eagles have been losing in an epic bad fashion and trading losses since at least week 10.

People are always wE WaNt ThEiR BeSt. I want to advance, be healthy and get ready for the next round.

Like stated before, it’s not like a 12-4 or 13-3 team won’t make it in. At worst a 8-8, 9-7 team gets left out.

There are four teams for two spots.

Seattle / SF
Minnesota / Green Bay’s

Rams and Bears are 7-5 and 7-6. So the winner of the East gets in at 8-8 over a 9-7. Big deal

I remember when the 11–5 Pats missed the playoffs in 2008 due to seeding. Surprised the NFL wasn't up in a roar about that.

Hilarious. No one wants to see quitters make the playoffs. Let’s change the rules. We are that bad...

They can leave it the way it has always been too me. I could careless about the crying going on. Play the game or go home.

I'd honestly be fine if the NFL did away with divisions all together and just had the top 6 teems from each conference get in.

Agree 100%.

But it would be fun seeing one of those losers by chance, making it deep in the playoffs. That's what makes football such an addicting sport.

Because every now and then, the impossible happens.
