OXNARD, Calif. -- The Dallas Cowboys anticipate taking defensive end Anthony Spencer off the physically unable to perform list before the season begins. Spencer, who is recovering from October microfracture knee surgery, would have to sit out at least the first six games if he is on the PUP list to start the season. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones indicated that Spencer is likely to instead be on the 53-man roster after the Cowboys make their cuts.
