IRVING, Texas -- Here is a stats-eye view of the Dallas Cowboys' game against the New Orleans Saints at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, thanks to the fine ESPN Stats & Information folks. At the quarter pole: Since 1990, 123 of the 194 teams that started a season 3-1 went on to make the playoffs. Last year it did not mean as much. Four of the five teams that started 3-1 did not reach the playoffs. The Cowboys haven’t been 3-1 to start the year since 2008 .
