Espn Sunday Conversation... T.O.!!

It was recapped on SC this morning. I love the "touchdown T.O." nickname. I think it will stick! I also liked the comment about being a good teammate. As long as he does what needs to be done to win a championship, thats a big part of being a good teammate...

actually, you should be a great source for this particular info that I seek, you know you being from Philly and all, please good sir, elaborate on how he acted in Philly this time last year

well, things were a lot rosier at this time in 2004 than last year.

this time last year, it was obvious that T.O. was either going to get a new contract or be a HUGE distraction. so, the iggles had to know what they were in for, since they were not going to renegotiate.

but this time in 2004, everything was all smiles BUT...there is still a different vibe out of T.O. now as oppossed to then. he still had that, "this is all about me" attitude then, and i don't believe that is what we are seeing now. at least, not in public. maybe it's an act, maybe it's sincere....time will tell, but he seems more willing to just go out and play than anytime that i have seen up till now.

RECAP:

-Showed ALOT of footage from the camp, he seemed alot more interactive with the kids than reported on this board. He did sign autographs and seemed nice.
-Said being a role model is important to guys like him, Jordan, Etc.
-He trys to be a good person off the field while not being in touble with the law
-Talked for about 40 minutes to BP before he signed, doesnt see a problem because BP is a straight shooter and TOs high expectations for himself will keep him straight.
-They have a common goal of winning the SB
-No pet names yet from BP, but can be called TD TO because he plans on scoring alot of TDs this year.

Overall he seemed great, didnt see an ounce of disrespect for anyone in Dallas

PS. They showed him in a #81 Mavs jersey at the game, no Heat this time.

My take on it:

TO OBVIOSULY loves the spot light. You know he scours the newspapers for things being said about him..at some point, negative press has got to get to him. In 100 years, no one will remember anything about him except his numbers. But he wants his more direct legacy not to be tainted with "team killer" etc. I think he'll be alright for us. But then again, so did Philly.

Im not a big fan of him, but until he does something wrong here, the slate is clean with me. For what that's worth at least

That is the feeling I'm getting too.. Lets face it ,he's got his humiliation,he's got his money..he's playing for the team he's allways really wanted to play for...and he knows he will never get the best of Bill and Jerry...he should be ready to ride out his carreer with class, If it's in him...
