The First Amendment means the government cannot punish you for speaking out. (Obviously there are exceptions such as threats and slander, but I mean things like political speech, ideas, etc).

The First Amendment, however, does not mean you can say anything you want without any consequences. Nor does it mean you can say anything you want in any forum you want.

which was my point

I'm confused. Why is he against Penn St. students? Because of the Sandusky case? That's idiotic if that's what it is.

It would appear that he believes any and all students who go there are morons because of that case. i guess that going to Penn State means you support what Sandusky did and Paterno and Penn State attempted to cover up.

Yeah there are students who do. I'm not denying that.

For him to act like every student there does that or cares, at all, about what Penn State's football team is doing? That's just flat out stupid. There are thousands of students there that I'm 100% certain couldn't even tell you where the hell the football field was, let alone care about Joe Pa or any of that. There are thousands there who are there to get their degree and that's 100% of their focus.

I'm not giving Keith a pass on how stupid he sounded making such comments because there are people who are doing what he's talking about.

when you have THOUSANDS doing it then they deserve the label. If you don't like that too bad.

Okay.

I'm not sure where I asked if you thought I had to like it.

If you want to label all because of the actions of part of a group by all means you can be that way. That's your bag.

But thank you for saving me the trouble of wasting any time reading any further opinions of yours on this site. A response like that shows me exactly where your responses need to be filed.

And somehow I doubt there will be a flood people incorrectly citing the first amendment in an attempt to defend him, wonder why?

1st Amendment applies to the gov't not to employers and people to people interactions.

Here's a video that I referenced earlier about Olbermann talking about 'shock' in times of tragedy and how it makes people do and say things that they later regret.

I think the actions and words from so many of the PSU students during the entire situation was reprehensible. But as Olbermann puts it in the death of Kevin Ward, it's what happens when we are in shock. I just with Olbermann would have heeded his own words when it comes to PSU students.

He is an incredibly talented, very intelligent man who is very troubled as well. I have never met someone before like him, who literally needed to be miserable to be happy.

That would be called stereotyping. Sorry but the PC era has rendered your response unfair and incorrect.

actually there are few more biased and prejudiced then those of the PC ilk.

When a large number of a certain group act in a certain way then they deserve the label. That is called reality- something the pc types have a hard time understanding.

Guy is a hack ....... and the company he works for has every right to punish him if he becomes an embarrassment.

I am sure it is in that very lucrative contract he signed.

I never give that elitist, d-bag the time of day.

ESPN can do what they want but I just love how they employ legions of regional reporters in print, radio and TV and directs them to stir controversy, ask baiting questions, and encourages all manner of questionable behavior but here with these comments they have to draw the line. Just stinks like a giganatic bait and switch to me.

I do not listen to ESPN radio at all. I will read Todd Archer but outside of that I only watch it on TV when Spurs, Cowboys, or Red Sox games are on and I have no other option. Their announcers are godawful.
