Anyone else watch PTI, SportsCenter, or anything else? Roy Williams comments are being taken totally out of context. He's been called a "bum", a "clown" and there is "trouble in Big D - another disgruntled Cowboy."

Golic blasted RW this morning on Mike & Mike, and then Greenberg cut him off and told him that he was reading it out of context and he backpedaled faster than Champ Bailey...hilarious :lmao:

That being said - Roy, if you're reading this, you still gotta get it together man!

This is why Roy shouldn't have said anything at all. He just made everyone turn around and look at the elephant in the room.

Who cares what they say, up until last week they didn't even know the 2009 cowboys existed.

And now that they know we exist all they want to do is tear us apart.

The only way to prevent his quotes from being taken out of context is for Roy to keep his mouth shut!

There was no reason for him to make the idiotic comments about still being the no1 and that no2 is getting balls thrown his way...etc.

All of this drama could have been avoided if Roy would have just said he's happy the team is 5-2 and the team is looking to prepare for the next game......:bang2:

Not saying anything is not an option. Why is it so hard to understand? He's got 20 people asking him after every game why he doesn't do more. He has a contractual obligation to speak to the media. If he doesn't say anything people criticize him for "hiding" and not being accountable. If he says he's unhappy with his own performance, the media paints him as a whiner. It's truly a no win situation because he was brought in by Jerry and the local media agenda is to take any and every opportunity to criticize everything that Jerry does.

There's a way to stay something without saying anything at all. I take it you have never seen Bill Belichick at a press conference.

It's the cowboys. Baseball season is over and they're look for any type of storyline to harp on. If we were playing the bucs instead of the e-girls this week it's a non-story, but because were plaiyng a divisionial rival on the road expect it to become the main focus of the media heading into sunday night's game.

that's a load and you're either naive or full of it. The media will in no way let Roy get by without saying anything. He's any easy way to take a shot at Jerry and until he produces, whether he says anything or not, he'll be criticized.

He's a freaking football player not a public speaker. Nobody ever said he was or needed to be a public relations genius. He just needs to catch passes and that's all he's really said.

Ed Werder reporting right now, basically debunking the media nonsense...says its not a repeat of the TO circumstances...playing video of Romo's response to the media about being committed to winning, strong core, etc.

Says that something is wrong because of completion percentages 62% to Austin, 38% to RW, Werder saying that he doesn't work hard, runs lazy routes, and leads team in dropped passes...woman comes in, talking about paycheck vs. production. Schlereth on now...says that Miles is #1 because he has taken advantage of opportunities, says RW has to take advantage of opportunities, take advantage of strengths being a big and physical receiver.

Woman back on, asking about team chemistry, trying to play up Eagles match up, Schlereth said it doesn't matter, chemistry is set, RW has to do better, but the offense doesn't go through RW so no need to worry about chemistry.

Good comments overall by Schlereth...whoever the woman was, she was attempting to use bait questions. Typical ESPN but good stuff from Schlereth. Basically telling RW to take advantage of opportunities.

Except that's not all he really said. He said something that could be construed as him throwing his quarterback under the bus.

Of course he will be criticized until he produces, but why add fuel to the fire?
He didn't have to make those comments.

I personally dont think Roy meant any of the crap that BSPN is featuring on sportscenter but he has to realize that the media is gonna jump on anything he says.......

Maybe if Romo will become the undisputed leader of this team and command some respect and accountability from the players this would not be a front page story.

Funny how no one cared about "context" when Julius talked about leaving Dallas with a win. Instead, it was four pages of rants and raves. Roy? Why he gets the benefit of the doubt.

A news place is always going to sensationalize things like this. It increases their ratings, which makes them more money.

They are making WAY too much out of it. I went back and checked out what he said, and it was not super controversial....just stupid.

What, you don't expect fans of this team to attempt to defend its players? Your faux surprise is noted.

Your embrace of double standards is equally noted. When, exactly, did objectivity die around here?
