Unfortunately most rules benefit the offense at the expense of the defense.

If they are going to allow offensive players to assist players forward, the defenders should be allowed to hold the player up while others push the pile 10 yards backwards. But that doesn’t happen because of forward progress.

I don’t want player assists either direction. And I’m tired of seeing the league neutering the defense to benefit the offense.

Yeah th QB sneak element of it is fine, and their success rate, but I want the pushing and lifting of ball carriers to be banned by the offense.

Nobody is stopping other teams from trying to develop monster O-lines and implementing this play as well. Personally, I think it's dangerous to put your QB in this position because of the possibility of injury, but since the assisting the runner rule was axed, it's legal. This does appear to be targeted.

Do I want it to be legal? Not really. Not unless the defense gets some kind of ability to push back runners a bit too. But since it's legal, anyone is free to build a big O-line and implement it.

It's football and it's a personal vendetta against one team. Good luck with the wording on trying to end the play.. might as well get rid of combo blocks too. Not astetically pleasing to the eye, lack of injury data, please...They tabled it and it still failed. Teams are jealous and will look for anything though...Eagles will run it now to spite teams cause they can't stop a perfectly designed football play with the perfect personnel. Now that's "end of discussion."

If Dallas invented and perfected it, we all know it would have been banned.

The defense is allowed to push their own players on regular plays, just not special teams field goal and extra point attempts.

At the league meeting in March, multiple head coaches said the tush push shouldn't be allowed because pushing defensive linemen isn't allowed on field goal block attempts. What many of those coaches didn't mention is that pushing defensive players on a regular offensive down is legal and a strategy they could have employed.

"The defense can push as well," ex-Eagles OC Moore said in March. "As it's written right now, it's not like the defense can't push as well."
