Tyrone Crawford, Maliek Collins donate mattresses to needy families

FRISCO, Texas -- Faced with shipping a king-size mattress home from Oxnard, California, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Tyrone Crawford came up with a better idea: donate it to a needy family from the area.

Using Instagram and Twitter to reach out to fans in need, Crawford gifted his barely used Lull Bed mattress that was sent to him at the start of training camp to Norma Ramirez, a single mother of three boys who lives in Santa Barbara.

Very cool and nice to see he isn't in a boot....ankle must be coming along. Hoping he can be ready to go game one.

Good for them. Good cause. Now on the other hand I hope Crawford is ready to go for the season opener because I truly believe him and Collins could make a good- to very good pass rushing duo at tackle. Passing downs.

The funny thing about sports is that we don't always cheer for the good guys.

Crawford gets a lot of criticism because he's over-paid for a just OK player; however, for all I know he might be one of highest quality humans on the team.

We do notice the Star players that seem like good guys (Witten) but who knows where Witten really ranks in terms of "good guys" when all 63+ players are considered. Witten probably has awards for it so maybe not a good example, but my guess is that there are some under-reported good-guys
(Brandon Carr comes to mind).

I do agree that donating one mattress isn't a big deal, but I am never one that is going to criticize a kind act. He made this woman a little happier and made her life a little better. Pretty good deed for the day.
