Interesting for both of them. The Adam Jones one doesn't surprise me, I figured we'd be the final team to take any real shot at him. Now he'll only get on a team who is in desperate need of Corner help.

Roy I figured would get a nibble or two. I'm surprised to hear it's Cincy or nothing.

Maybe teams are evaluating where they are and who they have. Possibly waiting until TC starts and see if any FA's or draft picks standout, or until injuries occur.

I'm pretty sure he will land with a team somewhere. Quite possibly after the 1st game, so his salary is not guaranteed for the entire season.

I don't think Roy really cares. He made his $$, he has his health and he never loved the game the way the all-time greats love it.

I remember he said he wanted to play 8 years when he first came in the league. I loved Roy at the time, but that comment really bothered me.

It's remarkable that just a few members here with an "agenda" were able to get Cowboy's management and the management of every other team in the league on board with that "agenda".

I guess it's hard to believe that other teams are aware of what it took Jerry a few seasons too many to figure out...RW was already done as a safety

All of us that were told: "that Roy just needed a more suitable system to thrive in", can take comfort in the fact that such a system doesn't seem to exist in the entire NFL. A young experienced and healthy player only gets a courtesy look, very sad. He was the closest thing to a human toaster that I've seen start at the position over the past few years, and he couldn't even become the effective LOS player that everybody hoped for.

Not to digress and rehash the whole RW debate but I never got that explanation either...That somehow the 'system' wasn't allowing him to do what he did best...That somehow the system let him down...Guy became an excuse machine rather than a hitting or tackling one

I've always been a Roy fan, and I don't mind admitting that, and I'll always be one. I hope he gets another shot and is able to do well.

Everyone is enjoying their pile on roy and brag they were right. Surprising, because last year there was such a need for him to get healthy.

If i were Jerry Jones, I would wait until after the first game is played, and if SS Roy Williams is still unsigned, I'd offer him a veteran's minimum contract to mainly play special teams, and to back-up as a the nickel-linebacker, and have him sub in on plays where you need a LB to play close to the line and ONLY worry about run-stopping responsibilities.

Why pity Roy? He was great, signed the big contract and ceased to play football. I cannot stand players like that, he is getting exactly what he deserves!

I remember just last year a few people trying to convince the board that Roy was not really as bad as the media and us fans were making him out to be.

I guess we now know who was right and who was wrong.
I totally agree. So much for people jumping on bandwagons to be the good guy popular vote, vs seeing things "WITH YOUR OWN EYES".

Yeah, I remember that.

I also remember him saying something like, "when I don't have to, I don't think about Football."

Roy doesn't have his heart in it any more and PacMan never had his head in it.

What a pair.

I'm not surprised about nobody wanting Roy. He chose Jesus over pigskin and "stopped playing angry" because of it. Too bad he couldn't balance the two like Reggie White did.

He started mailing in his NFL career years ago, and fans aren't the only ones who noticed.
It's too bad. He was really beloved here. You couldn't say a negative thing about Roy Williams on these boards for years or you would get stomped by his loyal and rabid fan base. Lest we forget the infamous "myths" thread...

Roy definitely had (and still has) talent, but just lost his love for the game.

Interesting that opinion is apparently not shared by the rest of the NFL.

I'm not looking to disparage Roy Williams, but his continued unemployment absolutely, positively, speaks volumes about what the league thinks of him.

There is no longer, grey area, no longer a debate.

Seems to me that many personnel folks around the league must be falling prey to those myths... why else wouldn't Roy be employed at this point?

I would too. In fact, I'd cut Carp in a heartbeat to do it.

A half-***** Roy still beats out a fully committed Bobby.

Just let Roy take Bobby's spot on special teams and call it a day.

I was a big Roy fan and was sad to see how his time in Dallas ended on IR.

Biscuit isn't even worth vet's min. I'd rather give his roster spot to a younger, cheaper, and hungrier guy.

No, he is worth that. If he were willing to play for the minimum, he'd have teams interested. He won't play for it though. He wants a deal that "makes sense for his family" which is code for "show me the money"

You really couldn’t. First time i saw his play beginning to decline years ago, i commented about it and was amazed at the backlash. The Myth thread was a brainwashing attempt...it fails to those of us that see past word games and twisting the facts. The simple minded are easy prey.
