ESPN Watkins: Nick Folk not worried about field goals

He has a different holder this year in McBriar and at least two of the misses have been the hold. That's what I'm worried about.

I'm not a kicking aficionado but if that's the case, then I feel somewhat better in Folk. We need a kicking expert to confirm this however.

Hos, whatcha got?

OK get another person to hold.I mean these kicks are important here.

With the way our offense has been playing the past 3 weeks, I'm concerned about Folk because ANY points are key at this point.

My thoughts exactly. These games coming up here in December are all going to be nailbiters, missed FG's especially on the road could be devestating. His missed FG against GB last week really set the tone for the rest of the game. He needs to get in gear, fast.

Well. As long as you 'hit it right' who cares if you miss.

I feel so much better.....................

Have you ever kicked FG's? If not, dont be so sarcastic.

It makes perfect sense what he said if you've ever kicked field goals before.

Exactly, especially if we don't win the NFC East which forces us to go on the road in Philly or New York in a hostile environment (assume we make the wildcard of course). Folk wouldn't be as much of a concern if we were averaging 27 points a game before the Green Bay game, but it's a real problem right now.

Well whenever he gets ready.

I know Romo's ready to beat the crap out of him.

Romo threw a right hook at Folk, but it went way over his head.

There have been at least two misses McBriar has admitted he didn't get the laces in front.

^ This.

Sometimes you hit it square and true and it doesn't go the right way. FG accuracy varies a ton, a lot of it is just luck that it flies the right way.

What is Folk supposed to say?

"Gee, I'm shaken. I don't know if I'll ever recover. Woe is me. Rue."

Of course he is going to say he isn't worried.

That's a given.

I think Folk has a new holder...

and it wouldnt surprise me that the holder is too blame on some misses...

they need to practice more.......

Folk being the 13th best kicker in the league (in a funk) is pretty much the least of my worries as far as this team goes.

Right now, I have it pretty high on my list because of the close games we're playing. Folk hits his field goal, then we're not relying on Suisham missing one inside the 40.

It concerns me more that he can't pinpoint the problem. Saying the kick felt right coming off his foot, considering it missed, does not inspire much confidence.

Hopefully, he figures it out quickly or it kind of ruins the purpose of us carrying two kickers.

Yeah McBriar said at least two of the misses were his fault for not getting the laces turned.

Folk is fine. Between the new holders issues and his offseason hip surgery, he deserves the benefit of the doubt. He's been too good his first two years for people to be turning on him this quick.

I am willing to give Folk the benefit of the doubt, but he has got to start hitting his FGs. If the holder is the problem, then get a new one. How hard can it be to spin the ball and place it for the kicker???

Lets put it this way Folk, we are carrying two kickers because you are suppose to be money on FGs, but cant kick it deep on kickoffs. Now if you are going to be a 75% kicker, then we might as well let the kickoff specialist kick FGs.

In other words Folk, if you are no longer money on FGs, we might as well let the other guy play both postions....................you understand????

I think Vandershank was one of the biggest disappointments in Cowboys history.

A toss up between Marcellus Wiley and Finklejact. Wiley may pull it out tho for publicly admitting getting paid when he knew he had nothing left in the tank. His words. Not mine................
