IRVING, Texas -- Jason Garrett’s future as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys has been a constant theme in the offseason and will continue to be a topic during the season. He is in the final year of his contract and there is no rush by owner Jerry Jones to sign him to a contract extension. Garrett’s Cowboys have gone 8-8 the past three seasons, losing Week 17 regular-season finales each time to keep them out of the postseason.
