So where's the article on Peyton, Rodgers, Brady, or any other QB for that matter? The fact is if Romo has had a few "easy" GWDs, don't you think other QBs have as well?

Don't get me wrong. Many of Romo's GWDs are legit, last-second, all-or-nothing, stealing-victory-from-the-jaws-of-defeat-take-your-breath-away-and-order-a-Romo-jersey kind of performances.

But enough of them are like GWD No. 4 to at least hold off on rewriting Romo's entire legacy for one more week. In 2007, the NFL's new Captain Clutch threw five interceptions on "Monday Night Football" against Buffalo. After the Cowboys recovered a late onside kick, Romo then -- are you sitting down? -- gutted out a three-play, 12-yard drive before Nick Folk kicked a 53-yard field goal to win the game 25-24.

Like I said, bullstat.

This is completely utterly flawed data in a sense that we have nothing to compare it with. I mean did the article writer go back and do this for each QB on the list? I mean the article writer reminds me of a poster here a few months back saying Romo's numbers are completely skewed because he's "thrown late touchdowns in the game when we were already losing by 14+ points", essentially just stat padding. I mean really? What fairy tale land do you live in where this only happens for Romo?

What happens, I wonder, if we apply that same standard to this new, somewhat ludicrous theory floating around football this week that, all of a sudden, Tony Romo is also now America's undisputed, unshakable Captain Clutch?

But for at least the next few weeks, when it comes to declaring Romo fully clutch after, let's be honest, a career chock-full of late-game gaffes, blunders and outright chokes, I'm on the side of Romo himself and his boss Jerry Jones.

He's always been a very good QB under pressure situations, 4th quarter down by 8- points, last 3 minutes of a game, he's always been that guy. Whether you want to say he's captain clutch is debatable, but to act like Romo hasn't been good or if he's just been a flat out choke artist is being completely ignorant and just lazy writing.

I'd be willing to bet the writer has rarely watched Romo perform, nor does he follow the team closely. Part of the reason Romo has the most GWDs (since 2006) is because he's been on a lot of mediocre teams. He's had a lot more opportunities then say, Tom Brady, who's team usually has the game won in the 3rd quarter. This is also part of the reason he has thrown the most interceptions in the 4th quarter when the game is within reach. Remember when the media tried using that line months ago? They also failed to mention he has the most TDs in that span as well, it's because of his sample size. When you're constantly put in that position, of course you'll throw your share of interceptions. But you'll also throw your share of touchdowns and have a lot of GWDs. Which Romo does.

If the article writer really wanted to do some research, he should've done it completely different because that was just a terrible display of lazy writing.

A good way to find out who's "clutch", and who's not would be -

*When trailing 8 points or less*
Successful GWDs / Opportunities = GWD %
Interceptions / Pass Attempts = Interception %
Touchdowns / Pass Attempts = Touchdown %
Completions / Pass Attempts = Completion %
Yards / Pass Attempts = Y/A
QB Rating

I'm sure @percyhoward has some insightful information on hand regarding the 4th quarter, I believe he's posted it before.

Romo has the most game winning drives while missing the equivalent to a full season with all the injuries- yet, he is still first in that timeframe. Why no one mentions the relationship between games played and Gwd is bleyond me.
