Dallas' defense isn't trying to force tree and outs.

We all wish the D was better, but it's a complimentary unit that wants to limit big plays and scoring while the offense takes care of business.

The Cowboys are currently 10th in points allowed (19.4) before the games today and tomorrow night.

Yes, Washington moved the ball through the air, but that was against a unit without Morris Claiborne and Barry Church, who have missed the last four games, and J.J. Wilcox left in the third quarter with a thigh contusion. Nickel 'backer Justin Durant also left with an injury.

Dallas had Jeff Heath and Kavon Frazier playing safety and Damien Wilson in the Nickel.

Exactly right.

It's amazing how many that are bustin on the defense seem to totally ignore the fact that the defense was much better before all the injuries.

But no... just change the scheme and these 2nd & 3rd stringers will perform miraculously. Yeah.

You want a better defense?

Hope the injured guys come back soon.

They could alter their defensive philosophy and maybe like try to improve. Maybe more aggressive pass rush and less bend, bend, break in the 4th quarter? Maybe when Church and hopefully Mo come back? Season ain't over, but this defensive philosophy is risky in the playoffs--even if it is dictated by personnel issues right now.
Why change what's working, we are on a 10 game win streak.......but yet yall won't to change things haha

Just heard on ESPN that Dallas defense is worst in the league at forcing three and outs... only 23 percent of the time. Not a surprise to anyone that watches this team. But discouraging to hear. Trent Dilfer, normally a Dallas apologist, says we will get exposed in the playoffs because of the defense. Sadly, unless something changes (Gregory hope and a prayer?), I agree.

Bend but don't break defense. They are very good a limiting opponents to FG's instead of TD's.( I would like to see that stat).

The Washington game wasn't as close as it appeared on paper. We gave them garbage yards and points in trade for time. The game was over when we went up 17 - 3. We were just playing the odds from there on out. When they scored we would simply just go down and match it. We played conservative the whole second half.

It was painful to watch but amazingly at the end of the 3rd quarter, Washington only had 6 points. Still, I doubt thats sustainable and repeatable.

Not sure how hard they tried at the trade deadline, I know that you don't want to completely mortgage your future, but one or two defensive players might have made a big difference in the playoffs.

All these CRAP statistics are pointless! Every week all I hear Is we are gonna get exposed. By Flaco, by Cousins, by Wentz, by Ben, by Rogers, or the Red Rider. Or by Jackson, Nelson, Green, Brown, Jefferies, etc. etc. etc.

Nobody knows what's gonna happen , it's crazy that y'all listen to the same people who said Dak wouldn't continue to play good, or that the Cowboys would only win 5-6 games after Romo went down. These guys are as clue as as the rest of us...

Get exposed by who exactly? The only good offenses in the NFC are the Falcons and Skins and we may not play either team. We are going to play two games max before the Super Bowl so I'm wondering who that team will be that has this really good offense that's going to expose us.

It isn't constant, but we do get pressure at times and the officials missed some blatant holds on Washington on Turkey Day.

And that will continue. We are the Cowboys.

That said, if the offense protects the football and doesn't give the opposition cheap points, who will beat us?

Only Seattle and NE, and given where we thought we'd be when Romo went down, I'm enjoying every second of this season.

I was really just laughing at ESPN saying there is something recently exposed about this defense. We all know what we're dealing with here.

It going to be the high flying Giants offense that has 14 points against the Browns. Or maybe Seattle who lost 9-3 and tied 6-6 this year.

A good defense (Seattle), who shuts down or offense for once and puts their lackluster offense in a position to get a game winning score against our defense could possibly beat us. They don't need to to the 98 Vikings or the 07 Pats. We will get a little taste of this possibility on Thursday against the Vikings, but their offense is even worse than lackluster--more like decrepit.
