Shanahan on ESPN980
Just giving everyone a heads up that Shanny will be on 980 in a few minutes with John Thompson and Doc Walker! Tune in!
Recap:
--McNabb is back in football shape and should be good to go Sunday
--Injuries are part of the game and you just have to be mentally strong enough to not make them an excuse
--Gotta have everyone buying into the system, we'll be good. Like the effort so far.
--He and Kyle develop the game plan, but Kyle will call all the plays on Sundays. Might get involved in play calling in certain situations, but he'll leave it to the coordinators.
--3-4 defense takes the right personnel and he believes Haslett and Spanos know it inside out. Feels confident in the staff with the defense.
--Have to out execute Dallas' defense
--Haslett will tell him when Albert is ready to go. Shanny told Albert to practice hard and be in great shape and he'll be ready to go. Needs to impress coaches during practices. Wants him to learn NT and DE.
--Haynesworth situation hasn't been a distraction. Best players will be the ones playing. If AH is the best player, he'll be out there playing.
--Says Kemo is ready to go
--Impressed with Moss and said he's excited to see what the WRs can do
--Special teams is strong area and he'll be disappointed if it doesn't stay that way.
--Not worried with Grossman if he needs to come in
--Cooley and Davis have prepared well all offseason and he's confident in them
--Every team has been holding stuff back in the preseason. Won't ever show much in the preseason
--Still not sure of how everything will play out with the team but stressed practicing hard and playing well on game day.
