Another thing to remember is Reeves had power struggle issues in Denver. Elway hated his guts and Bowlen listened to his complaints and chose to can Reeves.

And Elway was right too...

Funny that some of the guys want to slam dan for speaking the word.

Jerry is so dysfunctional it isn't even funny.

Reeves is right. I like Jerry as an Owner but I miss the days when we had a strong Head Coach.

Jerry the owner is the problem. Jerry the GM has not been all that bad recently.

The problem is when Jerry walks into the room, no one at all says there is the GM. It is alway the owner and the owner doesn't know where to stop.

The owner needs to learn when to step out of the picture and let the people he hired run their business.

Wow, move on already Dan. No need to keep taking shot at Jerry.

True, he should keep his mouth shut. It's the professional thing to do. Of course, it doesn't make what he is saying wrong. Jerry shouldn't be interfering with the player / coaching relationship.

"I know that a lot of people go to Jerry," Reeves said during an interview for a story about Wade Phillips' development as a head coach ». "If you've got players going to Jerry instead of Wade, that's a difficult situation."

WoodysGirl;2984762 said:
"I know that the most successful organizations I've been with are where there's one guy in charge and everyone tries to please that guy," Reeves said. "It's important that the players have the respect and that the guy who is the head coach has the authority."

What makes these comments so unprofessional? Reeves is a radio commentator and fans want his perspective. When Reeves says that players going over the coach's head makes the HC's job more difficult, people should listen.

Reeves is a former player and HC whose comments are right on the mark. The sad part is that Jerry Jones was also immensely successful with an authoritative HC in charge but he just can't help himself and diverted from that same formula that earned him 3 Lombardi trophies.

he retired from coaching after the 2003 season but won a playoff game in 2002.

How longs it been since he won a Superbowl? .... ya know .... something that really matters.

Because it looks like to me ...... every time he gets fired from a job ..... that team wins a Superbowl.

What I meant is that I like Jerry personally and I love that he wants to win and spend money. I don't like how everytime something goes on with the team that he's out there acting as our head coach. Wade should be the face of the Cowboys.

Hey Dan, it is non of your freaking business how the Cowboys handle internal matters. Last time I checked, it is Jerry who owns the freaking team and that gives him the right to do anything he freaking wants.

For an analogy, it would be like all the guys on this board turning over thier fantasy football teams to a 3rd party. All the personnel decisions, all the strategy decisions, everything is turned over to a 3rd party. You just become a spectator for you own fantasy team or Madden team.

How many of you guys would actually do that??? I am thinking very few, if any at all. Face it, all of us guys on here want to be in charge of making decisions about our fantasy/Madden teams and would not just become spectators as somebody else makes all the decisions.

So why do you guys expect Jerry to do the same??? After all, he did spend over $700 million of his own money to build the stadium, how many of you guys would spend your life saings on something and totally turn it over to a 3rd party to oversee it???

If Wade was any sort of real head coach who displayed any leadership, maybe this wouldn't be a problem.

I doubt anyone went to Jerry when Parcells was here.

He has moved on. He's a commentator. Apparently, someone asked him a question, and he answered it. That's what commentators do.

:hammer:

It's not like Dan Reeves is constantly talking about the events that led to his abrupt departure at Valley Ranch. Personally, I still don't think the entire story has come out on what really happened.
