Actually, the Giants haven't missed Shockey too much. Boss has been playing pretty well. And even more importantly, Steve Smith has come back strong and given them a viable third option at WR.
As far as Madison goes, this could be a problem. Unfortunately, even though Webster played well last week, it was just one week he has done so. It was also the first time he saw extensive action since being benched early in the season. The word is that he has just been slow to learn the system but is very familiar with it now. He will be tested and tested big time tomorrow. Is he what the Giants hoped they were drafting or was last week a fluke? I hate having to find this out in this game but it has to be done.
Sure, but this "office pool" is telling me that the Giants got players who they didn't have before. He proceeded to tell me that Kevin Boss wasn't playing the second game (yet he fails to tell me that Shockey, a better TE, isn't playing in this third game). It may be the homer in me, but I sincerely believe that Terry Glenn will have more of an impact than Steve Smith.
In the second game against New York, both Terence Newman and Anthony Henry were gimpy, but it seems that they will both be fine now.
TO will be fine.
The media seems to love counting Dallas out. I've never seen a 1st seed so disrespected. Even the Eagles, after they lost their first two conf. championship games, were still given much more respect than Dallas, and they did NOT have Terrell Owens.
I'm not doubting that the Giants are a good team (they would have to be, or they wouldn't be here), but the media just continues to write Dallas off. It's disgusting.
