ESPN's trade idea for Cowboys

I would rather trade a 4th or 5th rounder for Golden Tate. Yes, he’s a jerk but he’s in a contract year. He could be that veteran, reliable WR who has serious YAC potential.
Why do you think the Lions would trade him for a 4th or 5th? Bring in Tate and you would see big drama from him with Dak throwing as opposed to Stafford. Our receivers are not that bad. They are frustrated as any receiver would be with the hesitations , misreads, and lack of anticipation from this qb. These receivers are not dynamic but they can catch the ball. They will drop a few here and there but most of the failures with this offense comes from the qb.

Maybe but for a 6th round pick?

I'd take the chance.

People value late round picks way too much around here.

I wouldn't be up in arms if we traded a late pick for him, but at the same time I've followed him enough to realize he's a talented bum, who hasn't tried to improve at all since being in the league, when he's healthy that is.

Last year he would make a circus catch one game, then put up halfass effort in going for the ball/boxing out the defender, leading to multiple picks. He has the size/ability to do so, just goes through the motions.

No reason to make this trade. This offense is not 1 injury prone receiver away from being average, there's more that needs to happen.

So how does more happen if you can’t make moves that don’t solve all issues?

Don't give away any new draft picks until our new coach can have a say in the matter.

Parker is toilet paper soft, and lacks the work ethic on the practice field/game days. Too hot and cold, with him being cold more times than not.

I really wanted him to succeed down here, but he seems to be like Perriman/White. 2015 draft class WR bust.
true and yet he'd still be our best WR by far.

Live look-in at DeVante Parker reading the Dallas trade:

LMAO!

Dallas, where WR’s go to die!

A lot of short term thinking around here.

You'd be getting a highly regarded draft prospect in here for a late round pick. Give him a chance to develop for the future when we might have a real QB.

If that light ever clicks for him, we got a lower level #1 on our hands.
Big if though.
Our best WR right now is a really good #3, Z.
Parker would be our top X or Y.

Trade a 6 for Parker and cut Thompson, guarantee you pick up a 4th in supp draft....

start Parker, Gallup(upside), Cole.
Austin and Hurns are 4/5.

I agree it’s mostly the QB, but give me a veteran WR who can actually make some yards after catch. I’m sorry but Deonte Thompson is absolute trash and shouldn’t be on the field as much as he’s been. Gallup doesn’t seem ready for a significant role either.

He's not trading in Stafford for Dak. He'd sooner retire.

We dont need new receivers.....we need a scheme that takes advantage of the holes in the defense

We tell our receivers run into the strength of the coverage and win your matchup

I'm going to throw out a few math equations. Let me know if you can find the common denominator.

Julio Jones + Zeke + Oline - Dak Prescott = 13 points

Hurns + Zeke + Oline - Dak Prescott = 13 points

Antonio Brown + Zeke + Oline - Dak Prescott = 13 points
