ESPN's trade idea for Cowboys

I would see if DGB is ready to play football like everyone knows he can. If his mind is right, he could come in and line up at TE with his 6'6 240lb frame and force teams to respect the position like when Witten was in his prime. I would bring in Darren Waller too...this offense needs big and fast receiving threats.

Waller? A former 6th round draft pick that hasn’t played since 2016 and who only had 103 career yards over the 2 seasons he did play?

He has a similar skill set to Dorial Green Beckham...big fast target who never really saw the field or never got serious about the game.

But not much more feasible.

Didn't they draft Sutton to see if he could replace Bey Bey?
I know there were rumors either him and/or Sanders may be moved.

His cap hit blows up to 17.5 mil next year, and Denver would only have 3 dead cap if they cut him in the offseason.

Issue with Waller was that he played at GT. Routes run there was the fly and the curl. lol

****... he would be perfect here

I would pull a Mike Ditka trade to the Dolphins for Devante Parker and Kenny Stills. Then I would cut T Will, Noah Brown, and Hurns.

But clearly there is more to it than just being big and fast. Otherwise Butler would be a better player than Beasley. There is dedication, hands, route running, blocking ability, playing with intensity etc ...

What would you give up in a trade, and are either really a notable enough upgrade to justify giving up draft picks in a season we are unlikely to make the playoffs in anyway?

I would have drafted Mark Andrews because he is the all around big fast target I thought could replace Witten...but how legit would a motivated DGB look in this Depth chart:
Stills
Gallup
Beasley
Parker
Austin
DGB at WR/TE and/or
Waller at TE
Jarwin

I think Kenny Stills would put up better numbers here than Dez ever did. In saying that Devante Parker is actually on the block...so first I would see what is needed for him and up the offer until I am able to acquire both players...I would try to keep it as a draft picks for players trade but if need be I would trade the oft injured Sean Lee...LVE and Jaylon are ready to take over at LB. I really think if teams were scared of our WR corps the box would not get stacked all the time...Dak has the arm to punish defenses if he has reliable targets.

We had our chance at Josh Gordon and didn't take it. So...we have what we have.

What draft picks would you be willing to give up?

I don’t know about stills putting up better numbers than Dezs best years, but I agree he would be an upgrade. But at what price?

I’m not sure Parker would be an upgrade at all.

And have to pay him $9 million next year to keep him? While your 2019 draft pick goes bye-bye? Who's truly being "short sighted"?

Wait. I'm being short sighted by being willing to roll the dice on a 6th round pick for a young former first round pick's future and you're not because you don't like his salary next year?

I don't think you understand what short sighted means.

Wide receivers don't work with this QB. We have to get that through our head.

Yeah, I'm not interested in giving up draft equity for a first round bust that can't stay healthy for the "privilege" of having to pay him $9.4 million, even if things went swimmingly on this train wreck.

To do so is the epitome of "short sighted".

You could bring in Jerry Rice at his peak and this team would still suck. These WRs don't throw the ball to themselves. It's Dak that needs to be traded. Maybe we can suck enough this season to get us a real QB in the draft. Who's looking like a top prospect?

You still don't seem to grasp what short sighted is. Maybe you need to Google it. There's nothing short sighted about buying stocks which is what this is.

Focusing on who the current QB is and cap space for next year? Now that's short sighted.

Simply put, I think his upside is better than anything you'll find in the 6th round of the draft.
