If that is the way JJ wants to go, is there anyone available that would be an upgrade to BP? I don't see any.

Well how does one define"upgrade"?

Regardless though but theres enough evidence around the league anymore to suggest a change just for the sake of change isnt necessarily such a bad thing.

As we saw when BP first got here. It'd be one thing if his first year wasnt his "best" year.. getting that rag-tag team to 10 wins.. because then one could much more easily argue the game "had passed him by".

As it stands though, if one wants to make that argument, they have to suggest the whole pass him by deal suddenly occurred just in 3 years.

Plus, since when does a team need someone better than someone with some skins on the wall anyway when theres been a number of stooges, or just ordinary guys, that have "lead" their teams to SB's the last 8 or 10 seasons.

Or has it become a case where teams are "leading" coaches there?

 There's 496 coaches that could coach this team better than him. Seriously, who other than Dave Campo, Mike Zimmer, or Dennis Green is not an upgrade at this point?

Dan Reeves, Dick Vermeil, Jimmy Johnson.

Please I can't handle seeing Dick Vermeil sobbing on the sidelines. Unless the name of the new stadium will be Klennex stadium. :lmao:

Oh, I don't like any of these guys -- but there are people out there who are established.

Plus, guys like Belli, Cowher, and Holmgren may all be looking to move.

Cowher and Holmgren are both under contracts through next season at least.

Ok I have a question.... how many previously established or SB winning Head Coaches have gone elsewhere and WON the SuperBowl.... ?

Getting a coach with pedigree means almost nothing.

I would rather a young, hungry SMART coach. Never accomplished anything but has the Motivation to do so.

Coaches get fired, released from contracts, etc. all the time.

Herm Edwards was under contract last year -- and the Chefs got him for a 4th round pick....

It wont stop... the Bill haters and fans that have given up have already posted things like.... "we may win this first but then..." or "seattle is so bad we could get lucky"

so NO I dont believe it will stop

So none are available. so that means two possibilities: upgrade a DC or OC; or get a college coach. College first: That young kid at Boise State sure looks interesting, but not enough experience to go to the NFL yet. Outside of him, who in college ball is either available or good enough to bring? Have not really looked, so would like suggestions. Now for promoting coordinators: the problem there is whichever one you get you have to get someone almost as good for the other side of the ball. right now clearly I would want a top DC for our DC - an agressive, EXPERIENCED 3-4 guy. How many of them are around and available? NOT MANY.

We need a young coordinator like Sean Payton to come in here...

Wasn't Payton widely derided as an idiot on this board when he was here?

Art Shell. (Also not an upgrade)

However, don't rule out that Arkansas coach, Coach Nutt.
He's a winner (at Arkansas) and you know who at the Dallas Cowboys front office is also from Arkansas.

Bob Stoops is a natural. If Jerra can hire Barry, he surely could hire Stoops.
