Fours years with $20M guaranteed.....
Guaranteed $20M doesn't seem bad at all even over 3 years......

Is Seahawks safety Earl Thomas worth a $50M price tag?

The new league year is just around the corner, and Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas is poised to become one of the hottest unrestricted free agents on the market. Thomas is looking for the contract of a lifetime, and it will likely be with a new team.

But is Thomas, who is nearing 30, worth a megadeal investment? Thomas played just four games in 2018 and finished the year on injured reserve, the second time in his career he has been sidelined with a major season-ending injury — an injury that was the likely reason Seattle didn’t offer him a huge contract extension in the first place.

i'd do it if there were outs for money back in an injury clause.

Earl Thomas will certainly be the object of some competitive bidding for his services.

With the amount of current players we'll have to sign, he's not likely to be a Cowboy.

La'El Collins, Tyrone Crawford, and Sean Lee are all getting 10 mil each this season.

And people are opposed to the idea of giving Earl 12-13 a year?

It's clear some of you have been so used to the Cowboys being a non-factor in free agency that you had absolutely no clue how this works anymore.

13m per year over four years, with 20m guaranteed, meaning you could likely opt out after two years for a manageable cap hit or three years with a minimal cap hit, is a reasonable deal IF the team believes he's a difference maker.

This is what it costs to play in FA, some of y'all complaining like it's your money. :D

While I know what you're saying and have been beating that same drum, Sean Lee did agree to drop his contract number down.

But I agree with you that there is still quite a bit of waste that can still be tightened up.
